After a few years of daydreaming; my first ground-up build. Most of the pieces & parts were bought on budget (eBay, craigslist, etc.) which left some room for splurging on paint and leather. Not the lightest but the ride is pretty nice. Posting in a shameless appeal for validation.

Parlee, Shimano, ENVE, Kogel, Speedplay made it good
VeloColour in Toronto and Carson Leh in Austin made it pretty

Thanks

Welcome, Westdowntoeast!

That's a very clean & handsome build, is that a Z5?

I like the colour scheme, it's funny - the blue reminds me of a nice old neighbour's Citroen back when I was young :-)

Cheers

Nice but I think better with a regular black stem.

i saw a blue and brown build in the steel bike section i think and it looked great and so does this one. beautiful. i too think however that a black stem might set it off even nicer. beautiful taste and a beautiful bike. really nice.

It is a Z5sli; l bought it from a shop owner who never got round to building it up for himself. The color scheme inspiration was an Austin Healey mkIII + the nose cone of a P51. As to the stem; the painter had argued for leaving the spacers and headset cap black for contrast and he may have been right but painting the stem itself was driven by a number of Passoni builds I liked. Appreciate all the feedback.

So beautiful. I think Noah was right about the spacers...but hairs are being split. So classy...I am feeling some envy.

Oh...and the wine coloured qr squewers to match the tiny stripes on the black and white is subtle and sharp. Seriously nice.

Have you had your cranks painted? Hard to tell from the image.
