Kevosinn was so nice to offer to fix my bar ends that I messed up. I will also be getting the bar and stem bonded/integrated by him. Luckily, I found a replacement carbon leaf spring from Carbonfreaks webstore so I will be waiting for that piece before I start running the Powercordz through the brakes. For the cassette, I will be using a KCNC 12-25 titanium cassette. I have used these in the past and have been very pleased with them. Because I am going all out to save some weight, I also purchased a Recon 11-23 aluminum cassette. Yes, they do not last very long and shift poorly but I want to see how light I can go. When I used one some time ago, I melted through the teeth very quickly. However, I did not keep the drive train clean and treated it like a Dura Ace cassette. This is more of a spin at 200 watts or less cassette.

I saved a gram by drilling tiny holes and sanding down the Recon lock ring.

Weight together is 93 grams. Not bad.

I have a very quick question. Is it necessary to run both a down tube barrel adjuster as well as a rear derailleur barrel adjuster? I want to ditch the barrel adjuster that screws into the down tube. I was able to shave it down to between 1-2 grams but it looks bulky. Also, what can I put in it's place as the cable guide for the down tube is threaded. Thanks

You dont need both. One will be plenty, can you ditch the one on the derailleur perhaps? If not shave the threads off that one and drill/shave the upper? Cable tension will hold it in place.

I looked at losing the frame barrel adjuster for my rear derailleur. It looked like if I drilled out the threaded adjuster mount on the frame to the same diameter as a cable outer or maybe ferrule then the cable would sit nicely inside like a normal cable boss. Just watch you don't scratch the frame as getting a drill in that angle would be difficult. I hope my explanation has helped.

EDIT:

Just had a look at some pictures of the Litespeed. The bosses are mounted right on the headstone which should make drilling the out even easier. Don't let my advice break your frame though.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't want to drill out the down tube cable guides because they are welded directly onto the frame and it will prevent me from reselling the frame if I chose to in the future. I found some M5 bolts from Toronto Cycles. I ordered a few titanium and aluminum barrel adjusters that aren't as bulky as the one I have. I will take the spring off and seat the derailleur cable in it. This way, I can still protect the threads.

My bottom bracket cable guide with nylon bolt is 2 grams. I may save a gram by getting a carbon piece. Who really looks under the bike? Maybe a little overkill?

Yes this build is taking forever but I am taking my time and having some fun.

No overkill. Every gram counts on this build.

So with the carbon cable guide your cables will be rubbing directly on the frame as opposed to the plastc one?

I have to run plastic liner through the channels. You slip in the housing piece first then run the metal cable through it. Hard to see but the carbon is making contact with the frame, not the housing. The housing is more to protect the carbon.

If there's two holes in the bb shell (my Xicon had two next to each other), you could probably get away with running 2cm of liner on each cable and run a zip tie through the two holes to hold the liners somewhat in place. Epoxy the liners to the zip tie would help prevent migration or just skip the zip tie and epoxy the liners to the frame.

Unfortunately there is only 1 hole on the Ghisallo. Darn it! If there were 2 holes, your idea would be the absolute lightest.
