Comfortable and stiff. The front end stiffness is shocking. I usually have trouble discerning any real difference between frames but the steering responsiveness is truly something else. Jasper, I see you've got yours built up already it looks great. I hope you have more luck with the rear brake than I did =).

Yhea I notice exact the same thing, really stiff. The rear brake was easy, so what headache?

brake rub on all of my wheels. It was so bad I couldn't ride my alloy training wheels at all. The brake rub issue seems to be hit or miss depending on who I talk to. Half the people I know with AR's and 2016 foils complain about it while the other half hasn't had a single issue, I can't seem to find a common theme.

For this reason I purchased an old foil frameset and i'll be going back to normal brakes.

Ai that's bad! I have no rub.. Do you have good quick release spanners? Had the same issue with my old Foil and it were the quick release.

yup even used tried ungodly bulky shimano skewers. It's disappointing because it was a really cool bike but having owned the old foil before I know i'll be happy with it again.

So unfortunately this project has taken a detour but with the departure of one foil comes the arrival of another. I picked up a 2012 foil 40 frameset for $500. I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the white especially since my race wheels have white spokes. I'm thinking of ways to play it down before buying new wheels. My first thought is to plastidip the fork matte black. Current plans are to swap over a mechanical ultegra 6800 groupset, aeolus 5 clinchers, rotor 3d p2m + 55t stronglight tt ring, 38cm zipp sl70aero, 95mm -30 giant stem. With all the money I've saved getting rid of the other foil hopefully I can splurge for some etap or a different set of wheels down the road.

Frame size 56 with bb and small parts-1200g
Headset with evo si expander-83g
Fork cut- 381g
Seapost- 234g
2x fairwheelbikes v2 cages- 53g
San Marco aspire xslite rails- 184g

I like the 2016 Foil paired with the megabeefy Giant stem. The stock proprietary stems on the new Venge ViAS and Foil seem uber annoying.

Looking forward to seeing the new project.
