Hi everyone,

Been hanging around for some time now so I guess it's time to introduce myself! My name is Jon and I am a Brit residing in HK. I ride a Large Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 Team. Manufacturer's weight claim 6.7kg.
Ordered it in Jan and arrived in mid March. Completely standard right now. Looking for a gopro mount for the Canyon Garmin mount if anyone knows which part fits.

Welcome in the forum, Jon, and nice bike!
I guess you've been kinda lucky with delivery as many guys are having huge delays with their orders!

By the way, maybe we can catch up next time I visit Shenzhen. :beerchug:

Hi Micky, yes I have been very lucky. The wait was still agonising however!
Shenzhen sounds like a plan. Are you planning to ride?

Nice bike!

I ordered my Aeroad in mid december 2015 and got it end of january 2016.
Thank god my preferences in terms of spec, size and color had the shortest delivery time :)

@calleking, I do have 1 or 2 friends who possibly can borrow me a bike and I've done 3-4 races locally for fun.
So yes, if possible I would do at least some rides!

@calleking, yes that's essentially what I did, I contacted canyon and asked them which model had the shortest lead time and it was this one. Could not be happier especially after reading so many complaints about delays.

Seeing your bike makes me super stoked on being able to test ride the new Aeroad next weekend in Koblenz, Germany.

Whats going to be your first upgrade? I mean since its pretty much stock parts for now ..

@Monte, I did some minor additions such as lights, bottle cages, and have been fettling with gopro mounts to go under the Canyon Garmin mount but without much luck. I also changed the inner tube to a longer valve as i did not like the Mavic valve extenders. Probably will look into some Garmin sensors and maybe power meter.

Other than that I do not really have any plans to upgrade it yet. Just planning a ride in Taiwan in July.

@Maj, I will measure it and get back to you. I made some adjustments since.

Im also looking at importing this to hk.

question

1. any import tax of any type ?
2. is this bike worth another 1700 dollars over the cf slx 9.0? not sure ...

thanks

@alive - no import tax. Whether it's worth it is entirely up to you I guess. The ETA was also significantly shorter :P

Wow, your lucky my size L 9.0 Team is hitting the scales at around 7.4kg, the only difference I can see is that I have 2 Canyon bottle cages fitted and a specialized chicane saddle! I find the CXR's heavy. Going to cut my stem and seat post to see if I can get her weight down :P

Lovely bike by the way, just as a matter of interest do you suffer from the same problem I am with the wheels, the CXR blades create a rubbing sound at the road contact point, as one of my cycling buddies pointed out yesterday its like cycling in a hot country where there are crickets in the grass!!! It sounds like brake pads are rubbing of the rim but they're not, its the friction caused between the blades and tyre on the rear wheel only where most of my weight is positioned.

Not sure if it'll help (think you have aero bars, but this is a great combi-mount from Garmin: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/garmin-cycling- ... edge-virb/

I've got one of these (to mount Exposure light not go-pro, but same thing essentially). It's not elegant but it works.
