New old bike day, so here we go.

It's been awhile since I've been on carbon and a mechanical groupset, so why not both? I have no intentions of getting a new bike, let alone another road bike, but I recently visited a friend who no longer rides... and he gave me the frameset. I bought him lunch, so it was a fair trade, no? It's an XS (49), so yes it's a bit small, but luckily the geo and some cockpit adjustments will make it identical to my CAAD... so I plan on keeping it till I bury it into the ground or vice versa. I've always wanted a foil, but my LBS had none in stock while I was in school, nor did my budget allow.

So...I built it up with recycled parts from other builds. Another friend had the Chorus mini group laying around, so he basically gave it to me at a price I couldn't resist. I've never been on Campagnolo, so this is pretty exciting.

Expect some changes over time, I'm still dialing a position (too compact), as well as setting a new budget for some upgrades. Then some cool pics.

TL;DR - Got a new bike for like $400. It's pretty.

Holy mackerel, that's an amazing result for loose change you found down the back of the couch. Looks incredible. Put some mid profile carbon wheels on there (mmm, Bora One 35s) and you have a perfect build.

What are friends for

A white Foil is always very nice - looks clinical and poised for speed.

In my eyes, CAAD wins by a large margin!

Lucky you, love the low profile look of smaller bikes.

I have a set of 404s that would fit in just right.

Quick geo comparison.

STA angles are pretty identical, so the rear end was dialed fairly quickly. Stack between two bikes are almost identical because of Ritchey's fat headset cover.

Only thing I have to fix is reach. Thinking about ordering another Monocurve (130, 42), or another Ritchey combo (C220, Carbon Streem II)

Here's the comparison after such changes

Your bike builds always seem to amaze me. How is the ride quality compared to your CAAD10?

Excuse the shit picture. Dialed in the fit, currently testing out different saddles. Pictured is a Tioga Spyder Twintail.

Sweet new F0IL! And it looks to fit great.
Good friends are worth their weight in gold.
I know you'll take care of them when they ask.

That's an awfully slick way to compare geometry from bike-to-bike. Where can I find such a tool?

Looks great and I'm also curious about the geo compare.
