Hi I'm building a cannondale caad 12, still waiting for the incredibly slow distributors in the UK to get these frames out to the stores, in the mean time I've been looking over my parts to see where I can save weight, I'm not going ultra light as it needs to have a strong set of wheels to handle some bad roads in my area so I'm trying to be more creative in the ways I save weight. hoping for under 8kg which is good for a disc bike imo.

the wheelset is ~1850g but the crank is the Cannondale Si which i think is possibly sub 600g
Confirm!
My 2016 CAAD 12 Ultegra Disc came out at ~8.4kg, no pedals.
Wheelset (Aksium disc) about 1980g;
SI Crank with Spidering around 570g.
Cannondale SI crank goes around 90g more than SISL2 (which I just bought to swap the old 52/36 SI my CAAD12 came with I got a 53/39).
SI (SI Crankarms + SI Spidering + SI Spindle) goes around 570g.
SISL2 (SISL2 Crankarms + SISL2 Spidering + SISL2 Spindle) goes aroung 480g.
Bearings, spacers and BB shells are the same for each crankset.
I read that SI and SISL2 are about the same stiffness level (and they've plenty!!), SISL2 just got more refined machining (other than being 3D Printed) to save extra weight.
