hello all,

It is quite a long time ago that i had a bike that i thought it deserved a place on weight weenies, the last 4 bikes i had were all above 6.8kg
this time the goal is 6.6kg but i won't give up on comfort.

All the bikes i have seen or did ride lately did not do the trick, my current road bike is a scott foil it is ok but not perfect 56 to big 54 is a tad to small, stock frames build in the far east, only one color and if you are lucky you can make a choice out of 2, a flat clear coat and a red/white , top tube to long or to short.
at almost a custom price. so i made up my mind and decided to go custom build, price wise it will cost but not a big leap away from the higher end stock frames, and for sure not build by minors or under paid people in lousy conditions

the frame is a castati, italian so the frame is not the lightest and not flat clear coated so there will be a 250/300 grams of pearl white paint on it.
branding is in 3k carbon color small letters in black

Casati makes great framesets. They have little to no presence in North America, which is unfortunate, but can hold their own against the other popular Italian brands. Looking forward to the build.

Love working with Casati, I sell them in my small AZ shop. 96 year old family business, steel and carbon are all made to measure in their Monza shop. I have yet to be disappointed with their steel or carbon, and they have great attention to the customer's needs. Good to see one here.

I've got the 'old' Marte and love it. Looking forward to seeing how this one will turn out!

parts are already chosen, for the most parts

dura-ace di2
dura ace pedals
deda newton shallow bar
deda superleggero seatpost

stem is more difficult, 130mm -10 deg.
normal i still use itm millennium stems not light but i like the style of it

wheels
lw meilenstein with 24 mm dugast strada it is not an old tire , just 1.5 years on stock but the only other tires in a wider range are pave's
and the color is ugly and the rolling resistance do not match the lw, use them on 7850 wheels the rest is 23 and 22 mm wide
or some 30mm carbon clinchers with irc tubeless light 25mm tires

Re stem choice.... Why not Pro Vibe 7? 130mm, -10 degrees. If it's the branding you don't like it looks like it would be very easy to remove. Or do you want to stick with a more rounded shape?
Colnago C64 - The Naked Build; Colnago C60 - PR99; Trek Koppenberg - Where Emonda and Domane Meet;
Unlinked Builds (searchable): Colnago C59 - 5 Years Later; Trek Emonda SL Campagnolo SR; Special Colnago EPQ

Vibe and acetone are an option as the frame hasn't round tubes either

The bigger problem is the the seat tube is almost 2 deg. steeper the that i did order.
so my seat does not go far enough backwards and as that result the steer is 1.5cm to far in reach
measured and calculated more the once, made a picture with dartfish end measured the angle
let somebody else measure it with an analoge protractor, mailed with criptic kevin a few times gave him the actual measurments
and he replied with the same answer as i came for my self every time.

After a lot of emails the frame will be shipped back and we will see.
