Greetings,

This is my first posting on WW. I've been a cyclist for many decades now & I’m returning to the sport after a few years off due to injury/illness.

This is my new (old) bike. I bought the frame from a guy I know in Italy and I sourced all the components on eBay. I built it up in December last year and took it for its debut ride in January.

Since then I’ve done around 300 miles on it, - it rides beautifully.

Thanks for the compliments...

The Alfa has an entirely separate presence on the web here:

I've owned it for 20 years....

Initially i wasn't sure about the paint job, but the price was right & beggars can't be choosers...
I'm on a bit of a budget (relatively speaking) - hence buying everything second hand.

PR99 is my preferred choice, I have a Colnago Master Pista in that colour.

It would have been nice to have a matching pair... :D

The EPS looks great. Just the saddle is kind of cheesy.

Ha! - the saddle is one of my favourite bits....

I was thinking of changing the handlebar tape to match it, something like this:

Lizard Skins dsp 2.5mm bar tape (Phantom Camo)

http://www.customisedbikes.co.uk/store/viewItem.asp?product=Lizard-Skins-DSP-%28DuraSoft-Polymer%29-2%2E5mm-Camo-Handlebar-Tape&idProduct=1614

Anyone tried this product.?...

Update

Got some new wheels & a new Seatpost....

Image

The Campag Record Carbon Seatpost is a few grams heavier ( ! ), but I really didn't like the look or design of the Colnago Seatpost....

I thought the Colnago seat post really made the bike more unique. Definitely hang on to it for resale value of the bike (just in case ;)
