Get some other wheels too, and it'll be even greater (e.g., AX Lightness' wide XC clinchers with Tune Hubs to match the other Tune parts).

I have to run Rovals this year, but they are lighter and wider then my M50's :)

Love the colour!

Just got my 2016 Epic WC. In off the shelf trim with some rubbish old 520 SPDs it's 23lbs for a Large.

Next weekend it's getting converted to tubeless and gaining some XTR race SPDs, but putting on a pound as I'm fitting a KS Lev Integra dropper. It'll probably still be 23lbs I reckon. I'd like to get it under 20lbs, but that'll take some serious cash on top of an already large amount I forked out already.

Maybe I should just ride the thing :-)

Weighed the bike a few weeks back with the crummy tire setup. It was 22.4 w/ a SWorks Power saddle, 34T Oval Woolftooth DM and ESI FitGrips. Today I'm prepping for Sea Otter and I will be removing my Enve bars and replacing them with MCFK's and replacing the seat collar. I've also put new tires on for this weekend, renegade 1.95 and Fast Trak 2.2 both SWorks. That should save some weight as well. New number coming shortly.

Firstly love the bike! Secondly, would really love to hear your view/comparison of the Cannondale Lefty vs RS1.

I'm considering a nice HT build, but simply can't decide between Fox 32 SC, Lefty or RS1.

Thanks a lot Krypt0n1te, I have experience with all three of these forks. To he honest if I could choose one fork for XC it wouldn't be any of those. The Fox CTD damper should only be used for trail bike applications. If they had a open or closed only damper it would be a perfect application for XC. The Lefty is very stiff but very one dimensional (meaning it gives very little trail feedback). The RS1 is heavy, not stiff at all, but has the best trail feedback. My RS1 has the brain so it's different then most other RS1's but I like it the best out of the bunch.

In my opinion the best fork for XC is the new Rock Shox SID World Cup. It's light, stiff, and should give great trail feedback.

Cheers

hi there
did you consider the new fox 32 step cast fork? its a lot lighter than the old ctd, the dampening is better & it has full lock out.

cool bike. as I said earlier, I love the colour.

My comments reflect all the latest models including the new Fox32, and Lefty 2.0. It's just not something I'd personally put on my XC bike unless they were a sponsor.

Thanks again for the kind words. Cheers.

The "new" Fox forks don't use the CTD cartridge. Fit4 is much, much better than the previous CTD.

The Fit still has the three position (CTD). I agree it is much better than the previous CTD but still not my cup of tea for XC racing.
