Re wheels, i decided to go with the Bora 50's.

I know it isn't "matching" but i find it hard to get equal performance for the given price.

Forgot about QR's. Campag ones weigh a tonne but work well. I reckon the build will be just over 7kg which is good for this bike.

can you measure the headtube length + lenght of the uncut fork?

this is a 50cm H1

Geo chart on trek states 10cm HT. I measured the HT to be 8CM as per pictured above. However, there is then an obligatory spacer which is another 1cm's at the front and 2cm's towards the rear.

I don't have the measurement of the uncut fork though as i have told the LBS to go ahead with chopping it.

thanks.. curious how many spacers can you add between the top cap and stem.

is it difficult to readjust stem height without readjusting cable routing

i have seen some madone setups with quite a few spacers between the topcap/stem.

The spacers are made to be split collar so it isn't too hard to adjust stem height. Cutting the steerer though is a whole other story.

A couple of tips/hints for potential M9 owners.

1. If you are moving your groupset over and you run Di2 make sure you have a 5 port junction box.

2. Make sure that your cabling from shifters is adequately long to get to said junction box (refer to the very detailed manual for suggestions on length). Generally the cabling will be longer than what is on your current bike because the junction box sits in the DT instead of below your stem.

3. From what we could find, the only hardware that come with the seatpost are those that fit circular rails. If you have an oval railed saddle, you will need to order some "optional" hardware. I find this quite odd since for a bike of this calibre, you would expect Trek to cater to oval rails.

Bike looks better with black parts hanging off it as it balances against the super bright frame.

I see you are building it up with Campagnolo wheels and planning on shifting with Shimano. Could you please change the shifting to Campagnolo in that case? Please, Please, please?

Deeper wheels would look and suit it a lot better in my opinion.

I have bora 50's that will be going on this bike. Those are the bora 35's that will stay on the other bike once i rebuild it.

Re Bora/Shimano, i get you. I generally like to matchy matchy but i didnt want to pay an additional 2-3k to match it. Maybe somewhere along the lines i find a cheap set of enve's or a cheap eps groupset and switch it over. Right now though, my wallet needs to recover :D
