Thanks frankie!

Ended up with the praxis adapter (sorry Bart!)

Collected the frame back today. Must say I'm pretty stoked.

The blue is not exactly Sl5 (new tarmac) chameleon purple but it's fine. Still love it!

Great glossy paint job on the 3t team stem

Original sworks carbon seatpost is mighty heavy. 27.2mm x 300mm (cut) with bolts n cradle.

Just got the bike back from the shop. Height of seatpost and fore aft of saddle is not adjusted yet.

Current weight is 6.48kg. Dang.. And I thought it was easy to drop down to 6kg...

Phase 1 completed. Let's get some miles in before modding further.

Bb30, compact rings, 165mm

In comparison, the SR (with rings) weights 648g, and rotor 3d30 (without rings) weights 550g.

Weight of the stock red rings

Picked up this to match my planned sram red crank. (I happened to have both campagnolo freehub and shimano / sram freehub for my wheels)

Did you weigh the frame after it was painted?

I can well imagine that the 3-4 layers of paint add quite a bit of weight, and thus making the 900g estimated not accurate.

I didn't. That was something I ought to have done - comparing the weight before n after. My guesstimate is that the paint would add on about 200-250g, which is still acceptable to me as I can always drop weight elsewhere (within reasonable cost).

Did a short loop nearby with some short climbing segments in between. Lovin the ride so far.

I'm having difficulty sourcing for 165mm sworks cranks or 165mm campagnolo 30mm spindle cranks, and ended up using sram red crank as it looks good, are as stiff and light and more importantly they are easily available. Paired the red crank arms with stronglight rings for its marginal wt savings and nicer rings (to me). Oh - I got the crank arms painted black, with sworks sticker under the lacquer... Yes, I'm gonna get some stick for the sworks sticker...

Let's see if these 165mms make much of a difference over my regular 170s.

Added red 22 cassette as well. And changed the record 11 chain for the cheapest kmc chain I can find.

With this, my planned phase 2 is completed. I need to get more miles on the bike, get the fit dialled in, and ride some more. Perhaps get a shorter stem (90mm)....

A recap so far:
Phase 1
"heavy " painted sworks sl3 frameset
Full SR 11 components
Stock seatpost
C260 stem
Zipp contour sl carbon bar
Easton 24mm tubs
6.48kg
(done)

Phase 2
Swapped cassette to red 22 (153g vs 200g, -47g)
Swapped crank to red 22/stronglight (494g vs 647g, -153g)
Take out praxis adapter (-97g)
Add in enduro zero ceramic bearings (+57g)
Swapped mantra fx carbon for selle italia slr (122g vs 144g, -22g)
6.22kg (dropped 260g thereabouts)
(done)

Planned Phase 3 mods
1. Tune u20 skewers (20g vs 120g, -100g)
2. Tune whatshisname (water carrier) 2.0 cages x 2 (11g x 2 vs 0, +22g)
3. Tune stuck zero offset seatpost (90 vs 186g, - 96g)
4. C260 alloy stem with ti bolts (105g vs 100g?, -5g?)

Planned phrase 4 mods
1. Sub 1kg tubs (-200g)
2. Ee brakes (-120g?)

Happened to have a spare Garmin 500 lying around, so took the opportunity to weigh it.
