First ride today. Impressions:
-The aerodynamic advantage is noticeable. I don't have a power meter, but I felt just as fast as before, despite being quite a bit out of form.
-Very stiff; no deflection even when sprinting uphill in the small ring.
-Brakes not bad, swapping wheelsets could be a PITA but no problems at all, currently.
-Vibration and bump damping better than I expected, will report further after this weekend's long ride.
-I am SO out of form.

Solution to the cabling problem: use segmented housing (like i-links or Jagwire Elite links), they make a tighter bend.

Yes, the routing for mechanical cables on those looks horrendous. That Avid Roller which @Tomstr posted two posts ago is obviously not applicable here lol but I've used those on some rear derailleur applications, like a touring bike where cables interfered with panniers, and a TT bike with a SRAM rear derailleur which would have otherwise required a huge loop to smoothly transition from the frame stop to the derailleur. They actually work really well for what they are intended. But I really wish manufacturers would stop with the derailleur cable routing entering the top tube like that. Or at least add a caveat like "works best with electric shifting". And like somebody joked above, it could also be really annoying while in the super death tuck.

It makes me cringe that both aesthetics and shift performance is compromised by such awkward cable routing. It may work great with Di2, but guess what Giant, not all of us have enough $ for Di2 and not all of us are fans of Shimano(I am actually...) Venge ViAS and Trek M9 are on the same boat, it's just ignoring part of the customers' demands IMO.

Pulled the fork for head tube measurements. Looks like an OD2 fork would fit.
I also got some weights:

Giant Propel Advanced fork (cut): 580 g
Giant SpeedControl brakes: 110 g each, sans brake pads
Giant Contact SL 120 mm stem: 205 g
Giant Contact 2 110 mm stem: 185 g

Hey,

I was using a cap from a kit that adapts a non-tapered steerer tube to a tapered head tube. Outer diameter 1.5", inner diameter 1.125".

I have also removed that and now ride the bike without any bearing covers. Bike slightly too big for me.
