Admittedly in the case of the stem, I like the look of it mostly :-)

Hey, I can't disagree with that. I run a XXX stem (110mm). You can save some weight by looking outside the Bontrager family for the bar/stem. I'm not sure what those wheels weight, however, but you can take a look there, too.

My previous bike was a 2013 Giant TCR Advanced SL. The emonda feels just as, if not stiffer, but has a much more compliant ride. It accelerates faster, and keeps my butt in good shape ;)

I loved my TCR, never thought I'd find something better, but I did. Was sad to see it go and hadn't ridden the Emonda yet at the time (just picked up a new frameset that had a very tasty discount). From the first ride, I forgot about the TCR, it really is that good.

Would be interesting to try the 2016 TCR though, as its lighter and has much more thinner seat stays than the 2013/14. Same as the Emonda actually ;-)

I have had my Madone 5.9 at 6.9kg with my Enve tubulars, XXX Stem, Bontrager XXX Aero bars, RXXL bottle cages, San Marco Regale carbon saddle, Carbon Ti skewers.
I could drop about 200 - 300g by going to lighter bar tape, iLink cables, Speedplay Ti pedals instead of Stainless and lighter bar tape.

That's a good looking bike. How tall are you OP? The geo for the 60cm looks to be about perfect for me at 6'3"/191cm with a 34"/86cm inside leg.
