I'm not into the negative -17 degree stem look. The proportions never look right to my eye. If the stem followed the line of the top tube it would look way better. Like Sagan's bike:

I agree. The drop on my trek is -17 but the Guru is - 10 and looks more pleasing to the eye IMO.
The head tube is also longer on my guru but the design is such that both bars are at the same level.

Totaly agree with you guys! Is not all about the negative degree but what looks best on the bike, actually -17 is too much for majority of the bikes!

A few mates don't like the -17 degree "negative" stem look. And a stem should follow the degree of the TT which is a valid aesthetic concern. Considering modern bikes' head tube angles for M sized frames then we should know that a -17 degree stem is not negative if "negative" means that they point down from the HT to their bar joint . They are either in line with the road or mostly point 0.5 degrees up.
My opinion about the two Amaro Loren's is that Partizan's stem is aesthetically perfect whereas Sleepless' stem just doesn't look good on that frame.

Totally agree with bura but my back wouldn't feel good with a -10/-17 stem. :) Most of the posts in this section contains at least one "slam that stem" comment but I think fit is more important than looks. Hell, even pros have -6 stems or a few spacers.
