I have always preferred black tape over white. I don't disagree that it would look great though.

Roadrippin29 wrote:Also you should consider switching the tires for something good. It's worth spending the extra money to get it lighter since its rotational weight and bc you only have a little traction you want the best contact possible. I suggest losing the turbo tires at 230grams and go with the soyo scr silk seamless racing tires. 20 grams lighter and better traction.

That is good advice too. These tires are brand new along with the tubes so I think once I wear them out I will look into better options or try going with tubeless. The rims are set-up for that already.

I had a chance to do a quick test fit and fix the seat. Looks alot better now!

Saddle and bar tape should always match, Rule#8! Road pedals (read Rule#34) and it would be a perferct ride. :beerchug:

Yes! thats exactly what I said, thank you uncle John! This guy hasn't read the book of the road. While you have some down time I suggest you first read up on the book of the road then replace the black tape with white and you've got yourself something purrti. The seat looks good now and I agree obviously to first wear down the set of tires you have now and then upgrade them. Have you've gotten a helmet yet? If not I recommend the Limar Ultralight, its one of the lightest helmets out there and the 2015 model comes in a white and red thats sweet. In my opinion it would compliment your bike nicely.

If you dont like white bar tape you can change for a black sadlle. The bike would look way better, IMO!

I took some of the advice of people in this thread to drop some weight. I got some S-Works tires at a great deal ($27) which cut 20g per tire. Then I got some Maxxis tubes that saved 40g per tire. 120 grams of rolling weight should help a lot.

Also I took off the chunky shimano MTB pedals and put some speedplay chromoly pedals that dropped another 150g. After everything is said and done I was down to 6.65 KG or 14.67 pounds

Nice pedals! Looking like a great ride. Happy to hear you dropped some weight too. Should help with the climbs. Also remember to shave your legs and hair before going riding. That can save around 200-300grams depending on how much. Also props with the no bottle cages or water bottles. Water is over rated. Not worth the extra 800grams. :)

How is the praxis bb adaptor waorking for you? Any bb issues???

I am considering a 2016 tarmac, but the BB30 has me on the fence :scared:
I would probably get the praxis bb and run a shimano crankset...

No problems with the Praxis BB. Install was pretty easy and other than the weight of it its working great. I think the Shimano adapter has the option for ceramic bearings as well.
