Built up this amazing bike from Repete, out of Prague, first one in North America!

These NAHBS winners created a stylish and modern steel rig for a customer wanting a 2nd bike that would be a bit more comfortable than his Bianchi Oltre, for longer days, but still snappy and fun.

Build as pictured weighed in just over 16 lbs...

The Reborn is reviewed in the current issue of Cycling Ride Review - they weighed the frame at 1.903kg bare no fittings - approx. size 56.
Amazing workmanship - I love the headtube/fork junctions

I wonder where that weight comes from? My Ritchey weighs 1730g in 56. Can't be all in the head tube...

Hey guys, we didn't weigh the frame but I'd guess lighter than that given the overall weight.

A tapered steel headtube does add significant weight, which is why we rarely design that feature unless it is a special request or a stronger/larger rider.

Paint is even better in person btw!!

Best,
Mike

Ride Review always completely disassemble bikes they review and weigh each component. I have found their weights to be accurate in that they correspond with the weights of components that I have weighed. They do not simply reflect manufacturer's stated weights and often highlight where claimed weights are not accurate - particularly with frame weights.
They did rate the finish and ride qualities extremely highly.

I have a custom frame built with Columbus Life tubing with 44mm head tube and it weighed in at 1836g prior to paint. This was for 585mm top tube and 200mm headtube, so the Ride weight is pretty close.
The ride quality is magic. Stiff yet compliant and comfortable.

Life is a bit heavier than HSS but thanks for the weight.
Reason I don't weigh the steel frames is because none of them are light...but boy do they all ride beautifully. [emoji41]

I have to agree on the ride quality.
Can you post some close up pics of dropouts and some of the detail which I believe is really good on these bikes
