I'll post photos tonight, but I felt that I needed to share the info. I was running a white 2014 TCR Advanced SL and just shifted to a black current model, and saved a whopping 380g (or there abouts). Based on write ups the new frame was 180gish lighter. Did the 200g come from the white paint?!

Also for those wondering, the new ISP topper weight is now just 113g, from 160g (if memory serves me right). Good job Giant.

You did stupendous job... nice. Let us know how much different the 2016 rides compared to your other. I have a 2014 and really enjoy riding this bike and pondering a upgrade if I could justify the $$$.

Looks great! The white with the handlebar tape and saddle are a nice touch.

Maybe the write-up weight claims are from a different sized TCR? The excess 200g weight savings can't just be a different paint job.

The frames been trimmed a fair bit... Seat tube is skinnier, rear stays skinner...

There was an overlay diagram that showed the previous model to this new model on here somewhere... But it equates to a fair saving as seen above.

On a bit of a side note, how wide to those tires blow up to on those wheels? I've got the exact wheels, but deciding weather to go with 23mm or 25mm GP4000's

It's a medium

Thanks! The difference is probably just from the paint. I was happily surprised with the weight loss

I'll take photos soon. I'm running 25mm. Side clearance is fine, but the tire height comes close to my front brake. I fear that if narrower rims were used, it would pinch up the profile of a 25mm and snag on the front brake

Thanks! Despite the weight loss, it rides smoother over chipseal roads. Stabilty hasn't changed compared to my 2015. I haven't done enough climbs on it. Gimme a few more weeks.

Bit of good news and bad news:

Bad News: Was planning to have my handlebars painted black to match my new frame. I had a crash a few months ago, but since it was a slow one I brushed it off and assumed that it was fine. Unbeknownst to me there was a crack when I removed the bar tape. Thankfully it didn't fail on me during a number of races.

Image

I was going to use a friend's cockpit while I was supposed to have the bars painted, so here's the weight of a Connect SL 110mm carbon with 42mm Connect SL handlebar (just for weight reference)

Two Piece: 447g
Image

I ended up getting the new one-piece cockpit in matte/gloss black, the very same one I wanted my old one to look like

Good news: The new Giant Contact SL one-piece is lighter than the older one

New: 352g

Old: 367g
