Cervelo R2 2015 (first WW build)
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi Guys,
Not exactly the lightest in the world but I’m pretty pleased with it up to now. First build I’ve really tried to keep the weight down on .....TBH so the 312 won’t hurt so much next year.
Chose the R2 over the other Cervelo models mainly as preferred the paint Loads of “In Development" pics if people are interested in the upgrade savings.
Advice gratefully accepted

Sweet bike, I'm a huge fan of this colorway. Nice and simple. And very sensible build list!
But yeah, having a hard time believing that weight for a 58cm with DA and clinchers. My 51cm R5 with super record and very light wheelset is 6.3kg.
Either way, doesn't matter, still very light. Enjoy the bike!

I'm hearing you all on the scales :/ doubt they are very accurate too. Unfortunely the only ones I had available to me.....I'll ride it round to the LBS and borrow his to get a better number. Compared to my factory Felt (same scales just under 9kg) it hardly feels there at all.
Am considering investing in a pair of climbing wheels (maybe Spada or more Mavic,) or building up some lightweight tune or Chris King hubs to scrub at lest 500g off for next year.
I'm also have doubts on if my backside can take that saddle for long rides, it is worryingly hard :/
Thanks for the comments:)

You need to lose the saddle, it makes me doubt if the frame is genuine
Motorbike rider ... cause the right brake/shifter is normally the rear brake/rear derailleur. Nice bike it is, thats for sure.

More like he's British so front brake right is the default.

Great bike and super light.
I'm currently thinking to purchase the UCB speedcage, but in a hybrid ceramic version(the cheapest one).
Can I hear some overall experience on the Speedcage?
And does it help in terms of gear shifting performance?
Thanks !
