Why will you not be the rider? I am curious about your comments on the ride as I have only talked with people who have dropped a lot of $$$ on it and then have nothing but praise for it.

First ride today, went up a HC climb. It's very stiff and a beautiful ride, but I wasn't blown away, really. It's a great ride, hands down, but I'm more after performance (read: stiffness, aero) and I can get a better performing, but less of a red carpet bike for the same money. The Dogma, OTOH, has aesthetics and heritage which I don't need and still have to pay for.

I'd ride the sh1t out of it, but wouldn't pay for it unless he makes a killer deal. (it's $1500 btw, if you're interested)

How do you design something that looks like that. I never used to like it but I worringly find it growing on me - HOW?

(1) - Yeah we'll design a cycle and it'll be made of a front and rear triangles cos triangles are strong.
(2) - yeah that sounds perfect. How big do we make the respective triangles?
(1) - huh? well how big do we make the wheels?
(2) - huh?

I think things that are hard to define should be left to the least possible number. e.g. keep the triangles straight and the tubes round and you could end up with a geometry that works. I think these 'innovations' are turning cycle manufacture into art when it's ENGINEERING.

Not that it wouldn't be more appealing to hang on the wall versus a Picasso.
Art or Engineering?

Not sure what you meant by that. Are you saying that the bikes shouldn't be all engineering?

You can hang art on the wall and so long as it's fixed securely there should be no chance of you getting knocked over - Which would be nice.

Engineering is understood but Art can't be understood - Is that the definition?

I guess maybe it looks like I feel on some of the roads round here but I would rather fix the roads than ride a Vibrator.

I don't want to like this bike, lets all fix the roads.

I hope I've made myself crystal clear. :noidea:

Bike dismantled and carried back over to the KTM. Can't say I'm too sorry.

I was thinking this would be a good bike to buy and keep as a spare at my parent's house in Izmir so I can ride when I visit them, but I don't think it is going to work size-wise (I am 183 cm).

How is the used bike market in Turkey anyways?

Not the best, especially in the high-end part.
I'm 180 cm and it worked quite well for me, FYI.
