Hello,

Had this a few weeks now and posted some links here instead of in the Madone thread.

Love it or hate it, love trek or hate trek. Really pleased with it myself.

Came from a 2006 Trek Madone 5.5.

Trek Madone 9.2, 52, H2 fit
Upgraded Bontrager Aura wheelset (kept the oems)
Vittoria open corsa sc 25 gumwalls to lift the colour a little
52/36 chainrings

Comes with plenty of mount options including the garmin mount though you'd struggle to get a 1000 on it. I've got the edge 25 which looks a little dinky on the front.

It not the lightest though lighter than my old 5.5.

Will be upgrading to either mech dura ace or ultegra di2 but for the time being I've spent enough. It rides well, very fast though not compared my stats as mostly ridden in groups but I can tell the difference in energy usage. Most impressive aspect is the ride which is super smooth, the isospeed works really well. Love the bars, do a fair bit of climbing and the shape is no problem. Did 100 miler this last weekend 6000 ft climbing and it went well could have gone out again on Monday no problems if it wasn't for work. It was glorious sunshine to start with and then heavy rain so I've tried it in all conditions and its been great. 600 miles in and counting now.

Some pics and links, hope they work and are within the forum rules...

Looks nice! Congratulations!

Mind posting the weight? Given the wheels, I'm sure it'll be a little portly.

Haha I will though its not the lightest! Not got a digi scale at mo so will have to go back to basics a bit weighing wise..

What do you think of the brakes and their stopping power?

Your photobucket album is set to private.

How's the mechanical shifting with the probably crazy bends the cables have to take?

Those pics mostly taken during the build and pickup so all spacers left on to start with. It does look a little top heavy :)

Two spacers came off after the first ride and it looks a little more respectable. Want to run it in first and get used to it before cutting anything and wanted to take account of the cabling also given its all integrated. Though the LBS who built it said if I wanted to take all the spacers off I should be fine without it affecting brake/mech usage or cable damage etc.

The brakes are excellent and comparable to the da 7800's on the 5.5.

Mech shifting is fine both before and after taking the spacers off. The ultegra isn't as smooth as the old da 7800 on the 5.5 but I knew this would be the case anyway.

Not sure if having problems getting to photobucket, I set the madone album as public and seems to work fine for me.

What is it with people. Rather have spacers and have a bike you can ride rather than slammed and being uncomfortable

I actually didn't even notice the spacers until it was pointed out. I did notice a great looking bike though. Do you have a thing for Bianchi's?

That is a standard color for the bike. They had the same color at City Bikes here in Aventura. Trek does not receive the credit the should around here. They haven't always been beautiful but they build some of the best riding frames made.

In case it was missed, intentional or otherwise.
