I've benefited from this forum for years and I've never had anything too awesome to post, until now!

Just picked this up used. From my research, this gold version was originally for shop guys only, and only 65 of them were made.

1,210 g

Frame hardware = seat post clamp (24g) + BB cable guide + brake cable port + water bottle bolts
51 g

Fork, steerer cut to 8"
413 g

Fork compression plug + top cap + hardware
40 g

Headset bearings
54 g

Headset cone, 15mm
14 g

Sweet. Do like that. A lot.

What you need is a white and gold Antares saddle, a gold chain catcher, a rear mech with gold jockey wheels, gold Nokon cables, gold Tune skewers, a gold KMC chain etc. that I might just happen to have!

Build thoughts:

I already have a Domane 6 and a cross bike for big tires, so this bike will be a purpose build race machine.

I've never had a proper race bike before, by that I mean a bike that's got the typical "race" geometry with parallel 73 angles (I'm a typical 54cm guy), and stiff everything. I'll see how everything goes. The plan is to try it out, just build it up out of my parts bin. If I like it enough, I'll rebuild it with Weightweenie worthy parts. If it doesn't meet my expectation then I'll just sell it. Chances are I'll like it, I just hope this bike lives up to the hype in my head.

My parts bin:
- Shimano Ultegra 6700 drivetrain + 6800 brakes
- Stans Alpha 340 team wheels
- Michelin Pro4 Service Course

Likely everything will be black, there's nothing better than black and gold. However, part of me wants to make this the ugliest bike ever, like really obnoxious color choices.

Great frame, contrary to form I really like it. To make it truly horrible but in a smart way you would need to do something unexpected like outfit it with a full complement of purple anodized parts then keep the rest all black.

Wasn't planning on sharing this, but I had to. This frame really doesn't look that good in a dimly lit garage... It is begging for sunshine!

I have a size 56 in the gold as my winter bike. It always makes me smile when I dust it off come winter time.

A photo of your GOOOOLD would be nice, if it isn't too much trouble, I know winter isn't coming yet.

I'll shoot a pic of it and post it. I embarrassingly haven't touched it since around March.
