super effort, i love the look of the conti tyres, i had a look at the website but they only seem to make em in tubelars, any one seen these in as a tyre ?
and please dont change the lenght of your stem just for looks, next thing we'll be having a conversation that its a shame about your inline seatpost, (in order the move further forward ) and that he bike really needs a setback seat post !

That black, wow that black is the wrong shade of black... lol. I just bought a Cervelo R5 in that shade of matt black, I really like it!

Glad to head you are liking it! Been able to ride much with all this weather? I have been doing at least 45 min on the rollers every day for the last month. Seen some really good gains from the training.

Not as much as warmer weather, December was only spin classes, wettest on record for Oregon... yuck!. Jan was several weeks in a warm climate where I have a bike so I was able to get 300 miles in. Now back to soggy Oregon. Sunday looks like it is a good day. I need more miles on my new bike.

Was tired of the plastidip on my stem. I have been looking into other stems, but most of them, I would be either loosing stiffness or gaining weight. Really want the Deda superleggero, but the reviews seem to be so mixed that I dont trust it. If anyone has a view, I'd love to hear your feedback.

I have the Ritchey C260 90mm wet black stem. Acetone obviously wouldn't work through the clear coat to take off the logos, so at first, plastidip was the perfect solution. My buddy and I started researching ways to accomplish and we found a product called "Jasco paint and epoxy remover". This essentially eats through a clear coat and takes off logos without effecting the black anodizing! Brushed it on my stem and let it sit for 10 minutes. The chemicals started bubbling the clear within minutes. Wiped it off with a paper towel and half of the logos and clear came off with ease. Applied another layer and waited 10 minutes. wiped off and it was perfect! Wiped it down with alcohol and it was done!

We did it to his stem as well and the results were equal.

I'll be slamming my stem here within the next week, so I'll be excited to see how that looks. I was in a big hurry to leave his house to get home for a family event, so I didn't get a photo of the weight, but completely assembled with bolts it came in at 88g.

Wow! that is effective stuff. I was going to suggest a Zipp Beyond black stem, but it looks like you found the solution. Nice and black

That stuff works great! I used it on an old mountain bike frame, was soooooo much better than sanding (which I had been doing but stopped due to it killing my fingers lol)

Just a word advice to anyone that tries this, be very careful while cleaning the bubbled paint off, I got a few tiny tiny flakes on my skin and it burned like a bitch!! Lol

Yeah I thought about it but I don't how how the chemicals would react to the carbon or resin. Pretty sure the chemicals would have a bad effect on the resin.

Slammed my stem. Took a couple miles to get accustomed to it, but it feels pretty good. Been on 2 rides now, No neck or back issues so far.

Nice job on the paint/epoxy remover. Looks VERY clean. I think you made the right decision in not trying it out on the carbon handlebars...
