Like the bike but I'm confused by the bars - are the last few cm just untaped, or is that some sort of extender?

Yeah it's just that they're not taped all the way down, it was like it when I got it. I don't intend to leave it that way

made a big assumption when i put the bike together that the bike would weigh less than i thought, bit of a noob to this. The original weight with the Zonda's plus gatorskins hard-shells was 6.84kg.

Over the last few months i've cut the handle bars back (they were weirdly long & i didn't like the look plus i didn't need the extra length), put black lizardskin bar tape on, replaced the saddle with the same version but in black, put some aero's on (bit garish so with strip stickers off) and put Gatorskin sprinter tubulars on.

These are my first tubulars, I'm going to be using them to train on the dry winter days so went with gatorskins sprinters until the summer. Im really happy with the Ridley, handling is pin sharp and the frame weight appears to be decent. Re-weighed it at the bike shop today and it came to 6.43kg obviously including the cat-eye, drink cage and pedals

updated since last post.

Exustar Keo Carbon Ti pedals - 187g
Deda Elementi WD30CTU wheelset - 1140g
Schwarbe One Tubeless tyres - 260g each.

Happy with how the weights moving down, now at 6.12kg. Next steps are toreplace the seatpost with KCNC Ti, swap the chain rings for Stronglight CT2, get a Tune Ahead top cap & extralight expander then i think i'll be around the 6k mark.

Hey KCookie, I'd like to get it under 6kg but I'm also on a budget and would take reliability and comfort over ultimate weight so there are a couple of areas I'm gonna struggle to drop weight without spending a load. Good call though re saddle, I could prob drop 50g maybe, think the forza is around 170g

Weather over here isn't too bad at the moment (obv nothing like oz), I wfh a lot which means I can hit the South Downs quite frequently and enjoy the views.

Ah ok cool,im just outside HH so around the corner.

With the saddle and cut seat post I think I could get it to 5.8kg, I could also prob shave a bit from the handlebars however I really like the flat top one the forza's
