Very nice bike. I've read a lot of good things about the SLR02. What are your feelings on it overall? What were you on before this bike? I appreciate the insight - I'm considering upgrading to this bike.

Thanks, I have about 3k km on the bike now. My previous bike was a Canyon ultimate CF from 2011. The BMC feels more comfortable (I also use 25mm tires now, 23mm on the Canyon)
Stiffness of both bikes feels about the same. I liked both bikes but wanted something new
Here is a picture of my ex Canyon
Wow - I really like that Canyon, too. So you were coming from a pretty high-end bike already. I've just started cycling this past year and got myself a 2014 Specialized Allez Sport. 9-speed Sora group. I've upgraded a few things here and there: HED Ardennes Plus SL wheels with 25mm Conti GP4000SII tires, Thomson Elite seatpost, Ultegra 6800 brakes. I took a pretty conservative approach and got a "good enough" bike to start out on as a way of making sure that it was something I would stick with longer term. Well, sure enough, less than a full calendar year later I'm regretting not getting something nicer.
My local shop would be able to get me a decent deal on an SLR02. I'd probably get the full Ultegra version over the 105 spec. I've yet to ride the BMC, but I imagine even I would be able to pick up on a dramatic improvement over my current bike pretty quickly. I have just under 4k miles on the Allez and don't dislike it at all - granted I really have nothing to compare it to at this point - but damn do I want something sexier
