Here's my first Canyon, the Ultimate CF SL 9.0 TEAM version, size M, with Chorus mechanical and Eurus wheels which I find a excellent choice for value for money. I like the Movistar bikes, just could not justify spending a lot more for the top of the line CF SLX for marginal differences in quality or ride of the bike, and perhaps 200g of weight.
Here is how it came from the factory with canyon bottle cages
Weight from factory 7.3kg
After a few make-up jobs
- Elite Cannibal cages green
- Odi Hudz Milano Lime
- added the seattube stickers (ok.. a bit corny since its not the actual team bike but i like how it looks)
- Bora One 50 Dark tubulars (which surprisingly came in at 1230g the set)
- Veloflex Roubair tires - had these hanging on the wall - to be changed to Conti Competitions in 25mm
- Look Keo Ti pedals (the old classic ones)
Weight 6.9kg
I like the geo - the fit is close to perfect, although I'd prefer a slightly slacker seattube angle.
The headset system I find a nice feature - very easy to adjust.
As for the ride, it's stiff with a good level of comfort. Out of the saddle, the front-end is rock solid.
Did a few cobble sections with it and did notice quite a big difference with my previous bikes - with this setup, the wide rims and the tires at under 7bar. Was surprised how quiet the bike is going over cobbles.

That's indeed a lot of bike for the money. Chorus + Eurus is excellent!
Did not realise there was so much price difference between CF and CF SLX.

That paint job is awesome and probably will never get dated. As mentioned, great value.

Sweet bike. I am a sucker for that green color!
You are also sporting my favorite KEO pedals; those all carbon rocked!
I am trying to decide between the Ultimate CF SL and AL SLX; like you, I have decided the Ultimate CF SLX isn't worth nearly double plus can use that savings for nice equipment.
Keep on pedaling

I do like the upgrades!
Chorus and Bora look like the perfect match!
