Scott Addict R1 Single Speed 3.39kg or 7.47lbs(FINISHED pg6)

Hello,
I crashed my Scott Addict R1 a couple years ago and I recently decided to revive it. I got hit by a car and cracked the down tube. I decided to send the frame in for repair. I already have multiple geared bikes so why not make it into a single speed? I stripped all the paint off at home using Carbo Lift and some sanding. Then I sent my frame away to Spyder Composites to have the current vertical dropouts removed and retrofitted with horizontal dropouts for single speed. I also asked to have all shift stops removed for a cleaner gearless look. I am waiting for my frame to come back but I have already started sourcing some parts. I think sub 8lbs is no problem at all.
Final Weight:

For the crankset I will be using an Ax Lightness Morpheus crankset with Fibrelyte chainring and Fibrelyte inner bash ring. The reason for the inner bash ring is to support the carbon spyder which can break under high torque if not supported correctly. There are quite a bit of THM Clavicula cranks that have failed at the spyder due to not being set up correctly.

I will be using Ultralite Cirrus Ti Pedals.....They are no longer in business so I need to be really careful with my cleats as I will not be able to replace them.

For my wheelset I will be using some old Lew Pro VT1 wheels that I recently took off my BH Ultralight and replaced with 77 Composites wheels. I will need to use some spacers and will use the Absolute Black 16 tooth cog.
Weight without tires is 892 grams:

To keep the weight as low as possible I am going to avoid using STI brake levers and road handle bar. STI levers along with their rubber grips are quite heavy even if paired with Tune\BTP carbon clamps. This will probably look kind of ugly but I am going to use a 100mm Ax Lightness Zeus MTB stem along with a Schmolke TLO 25.4mm MTB straight bar. I will also use the KCNC VB1 brake lever which is only 25 grams. Add some Extralite foam grips and I will have a very light cockpit.
Stem: Ax Lightness Zeus MTB
Bar: Schmolke TLO 25.4mm
Lever: KCNC VB1
Housing: AiCan Bungarus
Cable: KCNC Ti
Grips: Extralite Foam
Expander: Extralite Ultrastar 2
Headset: Extralite Scalhead
Topcap: MCFK
Calipers: Ax Lightness Orion
Saddle: Dash p3 in matte black, black logo, black rails
Seatpost: Tune Cappy seatpost stopper
I will take more pictures and update this thread once I get the frame back from Spyder Composites.
**Special Tip**
Be very careful when using Carbo Lift because it will eat through filler once you get past the primer. When the filler is eaten away beneath the paint/primer, when one tries to clear coat it you no longer have a smooth surface. This in turn will cause pits on the finish if you clear coat the frame. Spyder Composites had to re-apply filler, re-sand the frame, then add clear coat to avoid the pits caused by the uneven surface. If I had to do it again, I would wet sand the final layers of paint/primer rather than going crazy with the Carbo Lift.

Fantastic project! Can't wait to see more. I would rather use drop bars but this will be cool nonetheless...
+1 drop bars
Great project though, subscribing

Cane creek do some relatively cheap and light drop bar levers. No need to use stis.
