Enigma Evade Ti

Hi, I've recently got back into road riding after a 15 or so year break, with a bit of mountain biking in between. Last year I rebuilt my 20yr old, Ribble 653, the Chorus is still smooth, but it tips the scales at just under 11 kg After a year back in the saddle I decided I deserve an upgrade.
I considered various Carbon offerings, but I really like the looks (& durability) of some of the Ti I've seen on here. My first choice was an Enigma Equinox but my size is not available so I went with the new Evade. Packages have been arriving all week & I should have everything by the weekend, ready to build over the bank holiday.
Spec & weights of the bits I've got are below & I'll update as more arrives. Based on what I've weighed already & quoted weights it should come in at just over 7kg. While it won't break any records its pretty respectable for a Ti build & best of all nearly 4kg lighter than my current bike!!!

Should be nice. I look forward to the built pic, and your review of the group. I'm building something similar, and deciding between DA as above, or Chorus, although Merlin are out of stock for my choices, ribble are £100 more.

Hi Yorkshire22, The postman did knock this morning but it was the seat post not the frame so it's going to be a long bank holiday weekend waiting for a delivery on Tuesday! I did consider DA & Ultegra - all the reviews I've read say they're fantastic, but there's just something about campag. I'm not sure it will still be going in 20 yrs time like the 8spd on the current bike but it does look & feel great. Hopefully I'll get it in time to get it built up & give it a proper test at the Suffolk Sunrise 100 next weekend.
That looks like an impressive bike you are building.

Cannot wait to see this - especially as Enigma's are built just down the road from me!
Edit: Having reviewed the Enigma website it would appear that the frame can be used with tapered or integrated forks. So I think I could use the C six forks I've got if I change the headset. Can anyone tell me if there is any benefit to the tapered forks? if not I'm leaning towards keeping the ones I've been sent rather than going through the performance of returning them to Shiny bikes & waiting for them to send out new ones
The frame finally arrived today & it looks great, really nicely finished. Slightly heavier than the quoted 1350g at 1452g inc hanger/cage bolts & seat clamp.
Only problem is bloody Shiny Bikes have sent me CSix forks with a straight steerer instead of the required tapered ones . So I've got at least another weeks wait for the correct ones to arrive.

Congrats to your Enigma . Sorry to say but comparing the stock photo with the DA and your Chorus build I only can repeat what I have said elsewhere. Carbon drivetrain components just do not look good on a Ti bike. DA is the way to go IMO.

To balance opinions, I think a little carbon looks better than shiny DA, which clashes with the Ti a bit by being similar yet not the same hue.

Hi, just built an Evade with mainly Campag Record 11 speed and Neutron wheels. Like yours i think it looks great, and the Campagnolo does stand out nicely against the Ti frame. Is yours bead brushed or polished. Will post a picture when i work out how!

Could not disagree more - I think the balance between the raw titanium and the highpolished DA crankset is off.
I would go for campag any day!
Looks great!
