I was involved in a crash with my Trek Madone 4.7 last June, and broke the frame.
After discovering the caad10 build thread I decided to buy a second hand Caad 10 and move over all the parts from my Madone.
I found an almost unused bike on the internet for 600£ and stripped it for parts.

I also bought some new parts on January sale on CRC and the result is as follow:
CAAD10 56cm Frame
Zipp 303 Wheelset
Vittoria CX tubs (23X700)
SLK Light Crank
Dura Ace 9000 Front Derailleur
Dura Ace 7900 Rear Derailleur
Ultegra Sl 6600 Shifters
Dura Ace 9000 Breaks
Bontrager RL Saddle
Bontrager Carbon Seatpost (cut down to minumum lenght)
Bontrager XXL stem (120mm 7deg)
ZIPP Contour SL Shallow handlebars
Ultegra 6700 pedals
Dura Ace 7900 10sp Casette
Dura Ace 7900 10sp Chain
Unbranded carbon bottle cages
Titanium bolts
MT Zoom Stem Spacers

Total weight 6.97kg with Zipp 303s
(7.56kg with Zipp 101)

Weight of the donor bike, the Trek Madone 4.7 was 7,75kg!

When is FSA going to stop with the silver chainrings? Switch 'em out to black when you have a chance and you've got a sweet ride.

I went for SLK-light to stay within a "sensible" budget.

I was concidering SISL2 and Dura ace shifters, but had to draw the line somewhere.
In near future I will change the saddle since it is 154mm wide and weigt is 224g

Finally new chain rings and also new seat and seat post.

Chain rings: Stronglight CT2 50/34
Seat: Fabric Scoop flat pro
Seat Post: Zipp Service Cource SL

I have also removed the decals on the 303 to giva a more 2016 'look'.

Even though weight is over 150grams ligther! the park tool DS1is still showing 6,97.... :x :x

Nice work and a respectable weight reduction without breaking the bank. :)

That frameset is so nice. Would love a chrome/black version like that. If you ever sell ;-)

Sand the seatpost and stem down to remove logos. Would look much better!

How do you get on with the fabric scoop pro saddle? I love it on my CAAD10, transformed the bike.

I like it a lot! Also bought one for my training bike. It is very cool that you can buy a cheaper version of the same seat for you other bikes..
