Here is my Kinesis Aithein build. Its a long story how i ended up building this bike, sold my colnago at the end of last year in anticipation of getting a new canyon aeroad, ordered the frame forks and bars from canyon in october, with the delivery date of end of May. Got fed up of riding the winter bike so ended up building this with a load of bits i had in the garage.
Only bits actually bought for the build were 2015 chorus shifters and f&r mechs, seat post and frame set, all the rest i already had. Comments and recommendations how to go lighter without spending daft money
Here are the weights of the parts
bare frame 1220
Un-cut fork 380
steerer cut down -30
planet x brakes 216
cable guide 5
headset 74
expander 28
seat clamp 12
fsa bars 208
bb cups 34
chainset 632
new ultimate stem 116
enve front 6.7 front 960
enve rear front with cassette 1300
chain 224
arione seat 170
pedals 189
bottle cages 56
rear mech 185
front mech 79
seat post 190
shifters with inners 370
other cables and stem stackers 220
Total Weight 6.84kg with the steerer still to have some cut down, but bar tape to be added.

Love that, I have a real thing for aluminium frames at the moment and have vowed to get myself one of these frames in the future. I bet it rides like a dream.
Plain and nice. Especially first shot where the sky copper shades reflecting in the front rim. The only spot I would change is to paint the swissstop pads black in the rear so the yellow would be not visible from aside.

Really cool! Those parts upgrade it to premium category.
Beautiful build. As said earlier, aluminum is not dead!

did my first proper ride on the bike tonight after work, very impressed even with a pair of alloy wheels in it seems very stiff and responsive. looking forward to some nice long ride over the next few weeks and getting a few race in. I think i will be keeping this even when the canyon does eventually turn up

Lovely build! I'm about to post my acid green Aithein on here, but a commuter/winter build so definitely not weenie in any way!
Only 1kg more for Apex build and mudguards is not too bad... Might get lightened to go crit racing next summer
Campagnolo really suits the frame.
Did you replace the stock headset, as the lower bearing was 49g alone on mine!
