Long time lurker finally introducing myself. I'm a Mechanical Engineering student out in California spending my free time riding and messing around with framebuilding. I crashed and cracked my 12 year old Giant TCR in the first race of the collegiate season last week. Luckily, I've had this on order since December and it came in just in time. I sometimes work part time in a Trek dealer (summers, holidays, academic breaks, etc.) so a Trek is by far the best bang for buck I can get.

It's sitting at 7.5 kg right now. All stock except for my Fizik saddle and old generation Bontrager RXL wheels. The future goal is to get it down to 6.8kg.

Nice looking bike. Trek use such a nice shade of red, I've seen it on a load of there mountain bikes and it looks great here too

You should match the bartape colour with your saddle, would make it look even better!

Little bit of an update.

7 months, 3000 miles, 2 crashes and still going strong.

Couple updates, nothing that made it lighter unfortunately:
Ritchey 4Axis 110mm stem
Ritchey Neoclassic bar
FSA Power2Max
Fizik Arione

Nice, looks much better with the black bar tape. How good of a deal on bikes can you get by working at a Trek dealer?

Nice... wheels look different.

What is the weight now?

Wheels on the latest picture are the stock Bontrager Race. I'm running them as training wheels right now with training tires.

I haven't weighed it recently, but if I were to guess with the training wheels and tires it probably sits at about 8kg. Race wheels and tires would bring it to about 7.7kg. It's kinda porky. That FSA powermeter is not at all light.
