2014 R3 frame - 51cm
3t cockpit
D/A pedals
SRAM red 10 sp
DT Swiss Al clinchers w/DT 350 hubs - Reynolds DV46ULT on Sundays

This is a replacement frame from my cracked 2011 S3 so I am looking forward to seeing if the ride will be much different. My goal was for a more comfortable frame but still be sporty.

I've had a number of cervelos including both of the above. I think you will be sufficiently pleased with the R3!!!! But the S3 was a crit racing beast

Nice bike. Was contemplating the R3 before I eventually got the 2014 S3 recently.

I looked at the new S3 quite closely as well. I think they are both very good frames in there own way. I just got back from my first ride on the R3 and it is defiantly much smother and absorbs the rough surfaces very well. Handling was very good, everything seemed nice and solid. In comparison the old S3 always felt a bit twichy on high speed descents.

I should mention the front fork has not much clearance for larger tyres. 23c are fine but 25 will rub :(

That's surprising. I run 25's on my `14 S2, and I thought the new R3's were going to handle even larger tires...

The r3 and r2/s2 forks are different.

contis (and schwalbe) are high in relation to their width (25 mm wide = 25 + mm high)

contrary to for instance michelin (23 mm wide (actual 24 + mm) = 22 mm high, same goes for mavic

Would you be able to post your saddle height? Just curious roughly what mine would look like in comparison regarding amount of post showing, thanks!

In this pic the saddle is 71.5cm from the centre of the BB.

That BB mid to the top of the saddle? Just wondering, thanks!
