question: i'm running a 1x9 campy on my flat bar road bike. does the chain "grind" on the large chainring when on the big cogs in back?

That's not something I've experienced. I set up my chain guard/watcher so that it won't rub when I'm in the 25/27. As a CX bike, I'm in the 12 pretty rarely, and there's nothing to rub on at the bottom of the cassette anyway.

Elegant and simple. Great build!
