Hi all!

After riding a Specialized S-Works SL2 for 5 years it is time for a change! I did over 21 different +2000m passes in the Alps with it including Marmotte, Vaujany, La Leggendaria Charly Gaul, La Pina Cycling Marathon,... I can not say a bad word about it!

Recently I purchased a Wilier Cento1 SR frameset which I'm going to build up myself.

I already got some parts but the majority is still to buy. But this is what is supposed to become:

Frame: Wilier Cento1 SR, small
Seatpost: Ritchey SuperLogic mast topper
Headset: Ritchey WCS Carbon tapered
Expander: Extralite UltraStar II
Derailleurs: Sram Red 22
Cassette: Sram Red 22 (11-28)
Shifters: Sram Red 22
Chain: Sram Red 22
Brake calipers: Planet X Ultra Light CNC
Crankset: Rotor 3D+ with P2M S-type
Chainrings: Extralite Octaramp RC2
Bottom Bracket: C-Bear
Pedals: Look Kéo Blade 2
Seat: Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio (Flow?)
Bottlecages: Arundel Mandible
Stem: Ritchey Superlogic
Handlebar: Ritchey Superlogic Logic II 40cm
Bartape: Sram Supercork
Wheelset: Shimano Dura-Ace 9000 C24 CL and Ritchey WCS Apex II Carbon 46mm Clincher
Skewers: KCNC Titanium
Tyres: Continental GP4000S II 23mm
Inner tubes: Michelin Aircomp Latex A1

Any thoughts? Improvements possible (within this budget)? I really hope to get 6.7kg with the Dura Ace wheels. Unfortunately the Rotor + P2M is adding about 236gr compared to a Red BB30 crank.

I always thought the Stockeau was a Cote and not a Col. But maybe I have lost something on the translation.

If you turn left at the Merckx monument (like they do in LBL) it is definitely a Cote. If you go straight on (for another hard km), you may talk about a tiny col

Won't you need a Dura Ace 900 wheelset to run 11 speed Red 22?

Made a mistake, I have the 9000 ;).

Was thinking about ditching the aero q rings and take BOR's. I'm not convinced by the q rings, they weigh more and the aero chainring doesn't look nice on a bike for climbing.

Can I make gains with replacing the jockey wheels? Can't find the weight for the Red 22 wheels.

I just weighed my uncut frame and fork and I'm quite disappointed:
Frame: 1183gr
Fork: 411gr

Wilier claims:
Frame: 990gr
Fork: 360gr

That's 244gr difference?! Of course I need to cut but I can't believe by cutting it will be 100gr less?

This is not a light frame but it rides great according to all owners and reviews. I guess you chose Wilier not for it's light weight. You could have taken the 800gr SL5 instead. Anyway, new frame will ride much better than SL2. Enjoy the ride!

I was first looking at the Zero 7 because of the weight. But the looks didn't convince me. Next to the Zero 7 stood a Cento1SR and I was like 'wow, it's really nice and it doesn't weigh that much more'. So did I buy it for the weight? Yes and no :). I'm pretty sure I bought a nice frame though!

However, advertising low weight you don't deliver is just wrong.. It's a +2000 euro decision where weight plays a serious role.

Sorry Method01, but then you should have done better research before spending your money or simply ask your LBS to weight it in front of you.
Anyway, believe me, you will totally forget its weight after the first ride.

Do you have a link to where the weights were stated?

They claim 990 for the M and yours is 1183 for an S.
Is the headset installed on your frame when you weighed it or anything else perhaps?

Nope, nothing on the frame yet. Just the derailleur hanger, but that's 17gr.

Sure let us know what weights you get when you cut the seatpost. Just weigh the bits that you cut off.
