Well this thread is dedicated to the love of what I think is the peak of frame design (from an athestic point of view) the 90's. All the road bikes I lust after are from that decade. Here are three of mine, what do you have?

1992 Trek 2300 with a mix of athena 11 speed shifters and rear mech, chorus 10 speed front mech, record 10 speed chainset, record Ti pedals chorus hubs laced to archetype rim..... over 9kg and I love it.

1992? Sannino - columbus genius tubing, columbus minimal fork and full record 10 speed groupset 8 kg.
Image

1994? Pinarello Monviso with Dura Ace 8 speed groupset inc BB and 7401 pedals, except the headset which is 105. I have a 7410 headset to go on and I do have a DA 7401 chain but I am not using it at present. The cassette is HG50 so slumming it at present. The wheels are ambrosio nemesis rims laced to Dura Ace 7403 hubs 32F/36R.

Love riding all three. I can see there is at least on other forum member with a 90's Pina from his thread (such a beautiful bike especially that stem).

So if you have a 90's road or MTB bike (I have not posted the MTB bikes yet) then let me see them and if you have a Vitus 992 I will drool.

@ bm0p700f

just curious: how does the 11 speed chain run on the 10 speed chainwheels?

Could not agree more, the Sannino is great! I am being drawn to those just slightly oversized tube sets as well, Genius, Nemo, you name it. Sleek headtubes and forks, colourful paintjobs, those are the most desirable frames indeed.

Unfortunately I only have a single (road) bike running at the moment, in raw Ti. There are some plans to shed a bit of weight over time, but it rides great already and so I'm not under pressure.

Then there's a lugged Genius frame hanging in the basement, but at the moment I'm really coveting a welded Nemo or MAX (edit: hello TimmS, looking promising!) frame. The look of the MAX forks in has grown on me in particular. Sort of 90s steel aero, would be my dream project for next year.

johannes23 It works just fine, in fact perfect. I love the merckx (but it is a bike that would need constant cleaning) and the ti bike, is that a pulsion chainset on there. For asthetics the colour of the frame may need to change but thats the bike tart in me coming out.

My custom built Reynolds 531 frame with Shimano 6400 Ultegra.

Wheels are Ultegra hubs with Campagnolo Omega rims.

That's an old photo. Since that was taken the seat post bolt snapped and I lost the top clamp so I've replaced it with a Velo Orange post (looks nicer in silver anyway). I've also replaced the handlebars with Soma Highway one.

Lazy shimano those 6403 hubs did not change much until the 6800 hubs. I suppose they did not need to change anything but the shell diameter.

Is that saddle on the pinarello level?

I love bonded frames especially carbon tubes bonded into lugs, it's what I love about 90's frames, the new designs that appeared.

Nice Havnoonian above!

Ah, the 90's! The last time I could actually call myself somewhat fast. Loved that decade. And it's bikes.
Still have the following in the ride rotation:
- Mondonico Diamond SPX (1991)
- Fisher AL1 (oops, that is from the 80's)
- Slingshot RD1 Folding (1993)
