Hi! Long time lurker, first time poster here. Thought I would share this.

Image

Yes, I know, another bloody backed out S-Works Venge

Frame S-Works Venge 54cm
Fork S-Works Venge (will cut down soon, too scared to commit to a position! It is currently slammed but I have been finding it a little hard on the back in this position on long rides)
Stem Zipp Service Course SL BB
Handlebars Zipp VukaSprint
Levers SRAM Red 22
Front Mech SRAM Red 22
Rear Mech SRAM Red 22
Brakes SRAM Red Mechanical
Cassette SRAM Red 22 11-25
Chain SRAM Red 22
Crank S-Works FACT 11r Carbon 172.5
Spider S-Works FACT 11r Carbon 110BCD &130BCD
Chainrings SRAM Red 11 speed 50-34 (on 110BCD spider) and 53-39 (on 130BCD spider)
Cables Gore RideOn
Wheels Lightweight Standard Gen III Tubular & Zipp 404 2013 clinchers
Tires Vittoria Corsa CX Tubular (although a conti GP4000 is currently sitting on it unglued as a pinch flat was suffered on the rear tire)
Saddle S-Works Toupe
Bartape Zipp Service Course CX
Bar Plugs Zipp Service Course
Skewers Lightweight Titanium
Bottle Cages Zipp SL Speed
Pedals SpeedPlay Zero Cromo
Garmin Mnt Tilquist mount
Ahead Cap Specialized
Spacers Speciailzed

Also note I have put a 350mm seat post on it (not the shorter one that comes with the 54 frame)

A couple upgrades in the future will include:

ee Cycleworks brakes (holding off as a little biddy told me there is a new version coming out soon)
Segmented cable housing
Extralite OC stem
Zipp SLC2 bars or possibly ENVE's (don't particularly like the aero shape of the Vukas, also would like the option for clip on aerobars, might hold off on the Zipps as I feel like the next gen of their carbon bars is coming after a recent update to the naming of their aluminium bars)
Look Keo Blade V2 - not liking the feel of the clipping in of the SpeedPlays

Also on another note I have been designing a number holder to be 3D printed hopefully in the next week, should be interesting. Tell me what you think of the design.

Cut that steering tube and it is one of the hottest venge's I have ever seen!! That is a work of art

Yes I really do need to cut the steerer but it is a one way trip! Once I get my leg out of a cast and am back riding I will get a fit and chop it. I'm afraid it might not be slammed though  although I could go for a Cavenedish-esque cover

Have to agree that is a fantastic looking bike, especially once the steerer is cut. Getting black rings or simply painting the rings black would make this bike perfect. (I do find an aero bike with compact rings looks weird though).

I do have a set of standard sized chainrings but I have found the compact more convenient at the moment as I have been struggling to push a cadence I would like up the hills. I do agree with the statement about the black chainrings and it was what I originally intended but I had some bad experiences with front shifting with Sram with a non matching set of non Sram chainrings. I think I am just a bit OCD with my front shifting, but the shifting I am getting at the moment with the Sram-Sram combo is good. Could look to a set of praxis or q rings in the future though.

The chainrings match the brakes, think they are fine. too much black can be dull also.
And since we're nit picking already, the RD cable loop is quite generous.

nice lookin ride. is it just the angle or is that a crazy amount of drop!

why would you put clip-ons on the venge if you have a shiv for tt's?

Agreed, to me it looks like he's got some crazy long legs and T-Rex arms.

Beautiful bikes.

I think it is more just the camera angle with the drop, but I'm yet to have a BG fit on it so haven't confirmed a position yet, although this setup feel comfy.

The want for TT bars is because some races around here don't permit TT bikes as I have discovered. The TT bike also gets used for a couple triathlons a year.

...nice looking build.

I have never seen such an large distance from drops to brake levers....the crescent shape of the Zipp bars really exaggerates the distance. Happy riding, EM3

PS- the cable housing is too long from bars to internal cable mounts on the down tube

Thanks for the comments!

I don't think that the cables are too long at the front as this is just how I have to run them as I run right lever back brake and left front. I want to get some segmented housing however to see if I can make the cables bend easier and tighter
