You are probably right, which means I will probably end up with DA9k or Campy 11

Now that is more like it.
I didn't mean to criticize your selection. Just to me, it seems the move from 5700 to 5800 wouldn't be that great of a jump. To something like DA or Di2, yes. I'm sure 5800 is great and all. But if you are trying to make it a "budget build" you might as well just stay with 5700 to be honest.
Anyways, look forward to how you finish the build over the next few months/calendar year.

Thanks! I am still up in the air about it. Part of me doesn't mind the functionality of 5700, and the extra gear isn't huge for me; however, the other part of me says that the most resale I will get from 5700 is when it is new so I should get it out the door and upgrade. I have always wanted Campy on a bike, and Campy on Cervelo feels right to me so maybe now is the time. Especially since I can throw a Shimano 11 cassette on there and it will function 100%.
We will see where it goes!

After seeing btompkins' other bikes this is going to end in a record group set with a SR RD...
Edit: I just remembered someone in my bunch has an r3sl with SR shifters and cranks, record everything else... Seems like the best gram/$ ratio...
I write the weightweenies blog, hope you like it

I am fighting the urge. No need to upgrade really after the crank.....the group shifts crisply and every time I ask it to. I want a cross bike for the upcoming season, so I may just pinch my pennies unless a good deal on a group pops up!

Great frame!
Check out mine. Sram Force is the right groupset for this frame though

I love yours! I agree that force looks great hung on this frame, but I real don't get on with SRAM from a functionality perspective, unfortunately.
