I was inspired by Fairwheel bikes 8.8 lb Crumpton build that used this very same combination.

these chains look good but in my experience (sample size of 1 chain) the black coating starts wearing off at all the contact points immediately and at less than 2000 miles the chain is mostly silver. other than that, all good.

the build on this BH ultralight is awesome, getting to that weight on that frame, congrats to the OP.

We all can use google to convert it or take out our calculator/smart phone and convert it ourselves. No biggie.

Beautiful build. You need to take some photos of it with a nice camera.

Although the frame is a tad heavier than expected, an awesome build nontheless!

To godzuki26:
I'm interested in your choice of headset...
According to the weight, I suppose you use UltraTop 42 on top, but in Extralite's description I see it's only for ZS press fit frame. The other "UltraTop 41-42 HD" fits IS42 frames but doesn't use the lighter radial bearing.http://www.extralite.com/Products/UltraTop-Bottom.htm
Is this top assembly(UltraTop 42) suitable for an IS42 standard head tube(42.0mm inner diameter)?

And when you say the Extralite's bottom bearing didn't fit, was it the issue of chamfer angle, outer diameter or height?
(My frame's lower bearing spec is: 52x40x7,45/45. I'm looking for lighter substitute for headset.)

Thanks for your help!

Message subject: Re: 2014 BH Ultralight 4.4 kg (9.78 lbs)Folder: OutboxHello, Thanks for the compliments. I was confused at first when ordering my Ultratop. I emailed Extralite in Italy and the IS42 is the same as the ZS42. I ordered from r2Bikes.com which lists this very same headset upper as an IS42. Check out their website. As for the bottom, I found that the outer bearing diameter was not snug enough in the headtube. I was afraid there was too much play between headtube and headset bearing which will result in my headtube cracking over time. Maybe the tolerances were off a little but I did not want to risk voiding my frame warranty by using this bearing. It would rattle inside the head tube. Hope this helped.
