Looks awesome....great build. Very interested in buying a Canyon Ultimate SLX myself...
Is there plenty of room for the Stages power crank arm? - I have one on my other bike
so would need to swap it onto the SLX too? - any chance of a photo of the Stages arm on your bike?

Thanks.

There is plenty of room for the Stages Power arm... mine is the (heavy) Sram Rival version. It had to fit with my Sram Red crankset.

The distance between the Stages "pod" and the chain stay is around 5-6 mm.

Thanks Juggler - I appreciate the photo.
I have the Ultegra Stages crank - but they are all approx. the same size/shape so it looks
like the clearance is fine. I've only heard good things about the Ultimate SLX so I'll probably
go ahead and get one ordered.

Looking at the pics, I can see that I need to tilt the handlebars a little, to get the drop a tad more horizontal... :)

Hi there Friejur

Thanks for the compliments - I fully enjoy the bike. However it has to go some time in the spring of 2015 - new project on the rise.

I haven't tried fitting the Evo to the C260 stem. I can tell you that it was a bit of a hassle to fit the Superlogic handlebars - so it might be the same with the others.

Sorry I wasn't able to enlighten you.

hi,
only one season on this new bike? this seems to be short period, at least for my relations (i am used to ride fully-enjoyable bikes for several years, really takes some time until i want to let them go, but, of course, everybody handles this different..)

may i ask, why this immediate change? not satisfied with aesthetics, geometry, handling....?

A wild guess, and knowing his bikechaning habits, this is might have something to do with it.

CaptainP... you are (almost) spot on :)

Nothing at all wrong with the "...aesthetics, geometry or handling". It is an awesome bike.

But when I saw the new Aeroad (in that amazing red paintjob), I was sold. Unfortunately Canyon is not able to deliver the frameset until week 22. The wait is long... :)

I was this close to ordering the new Aeroad, lovely looking bike with amazing reviews. But after having a 3D fitting and having the jig set up to match the size/geometry, it became apparent it wasn't going to be a good fit.

Agree though, they are amazing in red!

Still, the OP's Ultimate looks awesome. Prefer the Zipps but then I am biased. I have the 2014 404s with the black on black decals.

Hi Otto and Anders

I am 187 cm and my inseam is 89 cm.

The CF SLX fits me perfect - and the seatpost is set up, as in the latest pictures.

Beautiful bike, I especially love the crank/chainring combo. It's apprently hard for manufacturers to make a good looking crankset :)

I've also bought the exogram and intend to sand it down and was wondering about your experience with prolonged use of 303 aerospace in regards to rubbing, dents etc. I know it's been sort of discussed here on WW in several threads but some are old and some are more theory than actual experience.

So my questions:

How often do you apply/reapply 303? (I'm asuming that you are still using that?)
Have you gotten any scratches/dents/markings from the lack of "protective clear coat"?
Did you try the infamous razorblade method at any point or just pure sanding?
Did you remove the decals/paint with acetone or did they just come of while sanding?

Cheers!
