Canyon Ultimate CF SLX - 2014 (New photos)
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
My new bike finally finished... half the pleasure is in putting all the pieces together yourself
Frame: Canyon Ultimate CF SLX - 2014 (Large)
Gruppo: Shimano Dura Ace 9070 Di2 (with sprint shifters)
Crankset: Sram Red Exogram (175mm)(sanded down)
Chainrings: Stronglight CT2 52/38
Pedals: Look Keo Blade (12NM)
Seatpost: New Ultimate Evo
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Team
Stem: Ritchey WCS 4-Axis (110mm)(painted matte black)
Handlebars: New Ultimate Evo (42 cm)
Handlebar tape: Lizard Skins DSP 1.8
Brake cables: Alligator iLink
Cage: Zipp SL Speed
Wheels: Zipp 404 Firecrest (waiting for decals and a 11 speed body for my Enve SES 3.4)
Computermount: Garmin Out Front
Weight: 6.495 kg (will end around 6.2 with Enve SES 3.4 + Conti Supersonic tires and tubes + Smudek saddle)
I need to cut around 3 cm of the fork steerer tube - but I will wait until I have had the bike fitted.

I guess the sram cranks are there for aesthetic reasons, given that he took the effort to sand it down and his decision to remove the 404 decals as well. It helps to save weight too!

Took my first 175 km ride today... runs smooth and like a dream. Very agile and responsive - however not much different than my Aeroad.

That corner of Copenhagen looks so beautiful. Is it Nordhavn? Denmark is such a nice country.
I chose the SRAM crank for several reasons. I like the look of the matte UD carbon - and the Dura Ace "spaceship" is too shiny for my taste. It is quite a bit lighter. Cheaper to have several chainring options - I have both 50/34 and 52/38. And since I have SRAM on my other bikes, I needed the compatibility, so I can move my Stages powermeter back and forth between bikes.
The area is called Sluseholmen. It is a part of the old Copenhagen harbour - with a lot of new settlements. Really nice hood.

Spot on... I have had these decals custom made, to keep it as stealth as possible.

Thats interesting. May I ask how much you weigh in? Isnt the Ultimate much stiffer especially the bottom bracket?
76.9 kg this morning...
The Aeroad is actually very stiff... and if the Ultimate is stiffer, it is hard for me to feel - I am not that much of a sprinter.
