remarkable build! the new Ultegra gruppo is a keeper. I love my 6800 on my caad 10 as well despite the weight penalty ;)

Hi deltree
didi you end up getting that seat post?
I'm getting a 2014 caad10 soon...well is on the way then well put together
im interested in the zipp sl speed carbon seat post for the build.

Zipp alloy post has more flex and is arguably more comfortable than the Speed model.

SORRY. My bad on the late update. Weight with 404 tubies, Edge 510 & Barfly = 7.165kg or ~15.8lbs. Not bad given it's a CAAD with non-weenie parts.

I will re-weigh it sometime with my Shimano RS-11s.

Wow! Sweet ride dude!! :D

I see you went from a 54cm Evo to a 52cm CAAD. Any changes in handling between setups?

Hey dude, thanks! Your CAAD is gorgeous!

For myself, the main difference is my mentality with the CAAD, more so than geometry differences between the two. The geometries between both bikes are in fact different, but the differences are so small, that it's really difficult to distinguish. For me, and for most people, whichever bike brings the most stoke will pretty much be better than any other bike regardless of the frame geo.

Pretty much, what I believe (FWIW) is that the CAAD handles better for me, primarily descending. It's pretty much due to not being scared of wrecking the frame, but I think the slightly longer wheelbase with the CAAD contributes to a certain point, though it's very minimal.

Wrap plenty of electrical tape round the seatstays and forks under those mudguard mounts, mine wore through the paint after 4 weeks on my CAAD9 :(

Nice ride! Proportions look sharp! Unfortunately many CAAD10s seem to get quite some poor-weather mileage. Have to fully agree with ross btw - do use some layers of tape under those mounts. They look smooth and the fenders overall are not bad, but they certainly do wear on the frame!

They're actually not too shabby! I mean, anything helps, so better this than nothing at all. It was raining like crazy from the hurricane.

Thanks for the tips, it was only a weekend thing, I usually don't use fenders when it rains.
