Hi, I'm new to the weight weenie forum :D I'm building a colnago master olympic up with the lightest components i can afford for my 18th birthday. my current bike is a heavy 10.5kg bianchi via nirone and was fancying something a bit lighter. goal weight is under 7.5kg.
Thanks for looking and would love to hear your thoughts on what i should do with this bike.

centaur carbon crank 640g
centaur rear der 220g
centaur front der 92g
centaur carbon shifters 373g
centaur cassette 248g
kmc gold chain 253g
athena skelenton brakes 612g
campagnolo scirocco 35mm wheels 1792g
deda zero stem 110mm 133g
zipp seat post 270g
schwable tyres 390g
zipp bars 300g

listed weights and they come to 5323g plus less than 3000g for the frame and forks
should be possible to get below 8kg.(i know ive missed a few bits out but still calculating expected weight)

That's a nice bike and certainly a lot better than the third hand 10 speed CCM I bought from my brother 50 years ago for $10 and still had when I was 18.

The build you had (Veloce?) was probably appropriate for a bike that's close to 20 years old.The frame has great geometry and looks to be in good condition but it would be real challenge to make it 7.5 kg. You'd need super-light parts, light carbon tubulars and you'd still struggle to get there. You look like a big guy and I wonder how much you want to push for light weight. My 59 cm Master with a Street fork (probably about a pound lighter than your Precisa) was 8.4 kg. with 10 speed Chorus, Zondas, carbon post and light alloy bars and stem. Your bike looks to be similar in size to mine, so you'd need to find about 1.5 kg. of lightness with that frame and fork and similar parts to mine to get to 7.5 kg. If you could find and afford a Star fork and 303 tubulars, you could probably get to 8 kg but the last half kg would be more of a challenge I think. My lightest C40s are about 7.5 kg but the frame and fork are each about a pound lighter than your Master.

But, having owned a Master and a couple of Tecnos, you have a really nice ride there and I hope you enjoy it.

The build from the photo is some easily 2500g mach 1 wheels (very heavy) which are mated to a miche 10 speed cassette. a centaur ally crank, xexon rear der and a veloce front der. xexon 10 speed shifter so not the lightest compenents. thank you for all your comments about the build.
