Hello everyone, I’ve been a lurker reading the forums for a few years now, but never really had anything to post until now. Before I get flamed for a waste of a decent frame, I also have a Tarmac with Red and 404s for local races and training, as well as a beater Specialized Sirrus for commuting and locking up around the city, and lastly a mid 90s Bianchi TSX with full DA 7400. The idea for this build was for a super light flatbar single speed using the “cheapest” parts I could find on craigslist, kijiji, ebay, pinkbike etc… I’ll probably use it for riding around casually with friends or something, but I guess it was just a silly/fun build to keep me busy during the winter months! I’m sure I’ll eventually throw some drops on it and maybe some gears at some point when I get bored of the current setup.

I had it weighed at my LBS at 4.5kg, and 9lbs 15oz. Let me know if you guys have any questions or suggestions! :D

Thanks! I'm not a big fan of the bullhorn/levers look, however they'd be a lot more comfortable!

I'm not into flat bars or single speeds but it's not my bike...

Are you sure its a 2009? My 2009 has silver graphics. Same pattern though. Earlier model frames had white. I like the white better.

Eric, I just did some googling and you are correct! The 08 came with the Syntace seatpost and a Funda Pro fork, vs the 09 with the 3T seatpost and Funda Team fork. Good to know!

Would be much cooler with drops, IMO. That being said, I'd also prefer all the stuff on the Tarmac to be on the R3SL

Where did you get your single speed conversion kit from I'm doing an old cervelo TT bike like yours and looking for one to convert an old set of carbon tubulars I have?

How well does it wheelie? :D

I like it. If you're only tooling around on it, maybe ditch the rear brake all together if your nerves allow. I really dig the carbon spacer kit.
