Nice, looks like the sort of thing de zwarte would have ridden at the worlds. But probably with a more worn saddle

How does it ride?

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I'm torn between a NOS Team SC and a Scott Addict 10 frame for a new build, with either Chorus or DA9000. I'd like to get some idea how the frame will perform in comparison to a modern carbon one - I recently trashed a CR1 SL which is why I need to build a new bike. The Team SC is more attractive and cheaper so all being equal I'll go with that....

Thanks
Simon

@victaras
Unfortunately, I did not measure the actual weight :(
Catalogue weight indicates that the frame is 950 gr, and approx 550 gr for the fork, depending on size.
Mine is probably less due to the smaller sizing, I think.

@simonind,
Merckx Team SC frameset/fork is pretty light to begin with. Depending on your built kit+wheelset, you should be able to get below 6800 grams pretty easily.
As for the comparison with the latest carbon framesets, it's going to be subjective. The frameset/fork was made back in 2001, which means the technology is dated to begin with. It's not going to be the stiffest compared to the latest carbon offering, and the Addict no slouch either. Therefore, the Addict will triumph over the Team SC when it comes to STW ratio. In addition, Team SC has pretty thin sidewalls (hence the lack of weight), therefore it dents easily, frame definitely needs more "care" as Scandium is prone to corrosion. The ride characteristics is similar to a Colnago C50, smooth and comfortable with neutral handling. Pretty good for long sustainable climbs, though nothing too steep as it doesn't have the "snap" unlike those ultra light/stiff carbon frameset.

there's so much, so right about that bike/frame!
it's like modern art. the more you stare at it, the more beautiful it is.
I'd love to see more images, with variable light conditions. The reflection on the tt teases, in a way.
yeah. i just said that!
sweet!

Thanks @maverick_1, the reviews suggest the new Addict is more forgiving than the previous incarnation making it potentially more appealing, however the Team SC is better looking, still torn but thanks for your input
