Hey all. Welcome to my first build thread! It's only been a few months since I gathered all the tools and experience needed to do this on my own, and I thought what's a better way to start than with a true WW paint stripped addict cross frame? I stumbled on this thing for a great price and plan to build it up in the next month. Unfortunately, being a student, I have a pretty strict budget so weight is not going to be spectacular on this bike. Nevertheless, it's going to be a fun process. Here's the build list:

Frame & Fork: Scott Addict CX 54 cm and Ritchey CrossFork 1118 g + 510 g = 1628 g
Headset: FSA Orbit CX 96 g
Bar: FSA Wing Pro 40 cm 265 g
Bar Tape: Zipp CX Bar Tape Black approx. 100g
Stem: FSA OS-99 110 mm 123 g
Saddle: Fizik Arione approx. 220 g
Seatpost: FSA K-Force Lite (not in yet) approx. 200g
Shifters: Sram Rival 332 g
Crankset Sram force 10 speed 46/36 gxp 665 g
Bottom Bracket: Sram GXP 107g
Chain Shimano 5700 273 g
Front Derailleur: Sram Force 88 g
Rear Derailleur Sram Rival 186 g
Cassette: Shimano Ultegra 6700 235 g
Pedals: Shimano M520 SPD 373 g
Brakes: Avid Shorty Ultimate Cantilevers 260 g
Bottle Cages: whatever i can find
Wheelset: Ultegra 6700 rear 891 g + Ultegra 6800 Front 708 g road tubeless 1599g total
Skewers: Shimano Ultegra 6700 121 g (yikes)
Tires: Vittoria XG TNT Pro Tubeless Setup (13 g valves) 368 g + 381 g + 13 g = 762g
Cables &Housing: Shimano 90 g cables + approx. 50 g housing = 140 g

Total Weight: approx. 7.777 kg (W/pedals) or 7.404 W/o pedals

Weights? We want pictures too! I assume the frame weight is after paint stripped? Bring it on, no more teasing.

Yes, weight is after the paint was stripped. It includes the derailleur hanger, seat post collar, and bottle cage bolts. I was a bit disappointed since the claimed weight for this frame is a staggering 990 g (including paint!!!). I knew it was too good to be true. Updates coming soon.

Update: Most of drivetrain is installed. Unfortunately, the steerer came very short and I am currently searching for a new stem/fork. Any suggestions for stems with < 40 mm stack height would be very helpful. Apparently I also don't have a 31.6 mm seat post like I thought, and I'll have to purchase one soon.

Looks great. A couple of things to keep in mind to drop some weight would be A Kalloy Uno Ultralight stem. My 100mm with titanium bolts viewtopic.php?f=3&t=116669

For wheels I use Stans Alpha 340 comps. 1500 grams for the pair and some great deals can be found on them.

Also for pedals look at Xpedo MF4-A I have them on my cross and fixie bikes. They use Shimano cleats but I really like the performance.

Tires need to be optimal for your riding surfaces so no recommendations. I use Michelin Mud 2 set up tubeless and work well on the terrain where I live.

It's great to see a nice stealthy cx-bike. Good work and good choice of value-for-money-parts.

That's a pretty heavy bar tape. Lizard Skins is great for cross and about half the weight.

Yes but it's also twice the price. I also have found the Zipp tape to be really comfy too. I might end up putting Lizardskins on my roadie next time it needs a change though.
