Hi,

Introducing myself here. Recently built up this humble bike. Most parts came right off my De Rosa R838 except BB cups. Weight is 7.10kg as in current form. Current stem will make way for a black stem. Considering Zipp Sprint Stem or 3T ARX LTD. More incline to the former for look.

Nice bike! Those tires are 23s or 25s?

Thanks All!

RMA: Those are 23s. Good enough for my weight of 64kg and I don't quite buy 25s rolls better theory. Comfortable yes but faster is subjective.

Did some minor adjustment to the drop after 3 weeks of riding (400km). The drop is now 5mm lower which also extended the reach by 5mm. The drop is immediately felt and I doubt I can handle a totally slammed ride because my thigh is already touching my torso when I go onto the drop.

Also added a chain catcher as I got a chain drop incident that chipped the BB area.

Took it out for a solo 25km (15.5mile) ride yesterday. I can immediately feel the difference as I spent most time on the hoods rather than the drop even when riding against headwind. I am not entirely comfortable on the drop as it is too aggressively and am not able to put the power down as efficiently vs 5mm up. Only managed to hold an average speed of 34km/h with this set up. Normally I can hold a 35 - 36km/h on a solo ride.

Just sharing my experience.

Sounds like you need to raise the stem back up again.
You want to be able to spend significant time in the drops.
