You read the title right? It says **rain** bike.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't that usually indicate that it isn't intended for races or really high performance riding?

No. Lugs suck because steel frame technology has moved on. Large diameter tubes and TIG welding give stronger and more lightweight frames, larger diameter tubes also produce stiffer frames, and using larger tubes allow them to be shaped so as to improve ride quality. Any Monkey Brain can braze up a lugged frame, or for that matter a fillet brazed frame as well, but yer TIG welding requires skill and know-how.

Lugged frames are child's play.

you are clueless. this bike is going to be awesome. sod off and go have a wank or something

Mr Savine is harder than you no doubt.

Check out my TIG'd 953 Rourke if you don't like this frame 8)

Progress so far....

Headset, stem, bars, levers, seatpost, saddle, fd, rd, cranks, pedals and BB fitted.

Problems so far...

Had to sell my silver record hubbed wheels due to buying a house soon and need every last £ :(

Honjos wouldn't fit properly on the front due to wheel rub so had to put sks on -
i may sell the honjos and get some cream SKS longobards.

To do....

Cable up and bar tap on and go for a test ride

Fit...

Feels spot on

Weight....

NOT WW by any stretch of the imagination

PICS - hopefully on the weekend. :)

Here it is - did a rainy/muddy 50 mile there and back commute to work today .
Really comfprtable - especially with the Brooks but not the lightest - around 9.6kg but should last me a long time.
Great thing is come summer the guards can come off and i'll put parigi roubaix tyres on :beerchug:

Dag, yo. That's a rain bike?

I approve. Alloy Record 10 is one of THE best groups around.

Additionally - what tires are you running now?

You may already know this but Challenge Paris Roubaix tubs are the most comfortable road tires around, and plenty fast to boot. Have yet to try the Grand Bois line-up of clinchers, but I love my fat P-R tubs.
