Hi all,

Quick update.... I have suffered a minor setback in that the Zipp cranks dont fit  I didnt realise that the Zipp BSA cup widths were around 3mm narrower than say Shimano or Campy cups, which means that the axle on the Zipp cranks is too short for BB86 DOH!! So the cranks will now be changing to Rotor 3D+ which i should receive on Monday, the downside is that I expect this will add around 100g, but they are black/silver so should look pretty good. I do also have a set of Ciamillo cranks on order but I really dont know when to expect these and I think I will save these to go back on the Parlee someday.....

Couple of other bits here, just waiting for Saddle, cables and skewers to arrive...

Cheers,
Lig.

Hi all,

so the cranks have arrived.... 819g with pedals attached V the Zipps which were 733g so 86g weight gain which is a shame, but the Rotors colour scheme sure will match the frame nicely....

The saddle and cables are on there way too, so hopefully I will have this built up early next week.... so my next post should be of the build....

Cheers Lig.

Hi all,

I ran into a few issues, in that the Nokons didn't work with the internal routing... So i have had to use standard cables for the rear gear and brake but Nokon for front gear and brake....

Final few pics of the parts then the finished build below.... Came in at bang on 6.3Kg.

I await your comments - especially on the shiny silver bar tape

Cheers Lig.

Not a fan of the bartape, but everything else is dead freaking sexy!

Samuel Sanchez called and wants his bar tape back :D (yeah I know his was golden, but seeing yours just remind me of his )

Awesome build, I'd change the bar tape :D and in my opinion, black cranks would go even better.

Cheers and hope for more photos and feedback of your ride

Cheers chaps.

The bar tape is just a bit different.... I am sure soon enough it will be re-done in black... but for now it stays...

As for the cranks, black does look better as I initially wanted to put my Zipps on (pg1) but the axle was too short and by that time I had fitted the 30mm ceramic BB so I had little choice. But I think they look OK and are different from Shimano/SRAM/Campag.... I have a set on order with Ted Ciamillo, so maybe when I receive these they will go on...

Cheers,
Lig.

Hi Theosaurus,

I got the frame from CRC, it was a one off that they had in this size.

Can I ask why you ask?? (maybe pm me to carry this on)??

Cheers,
Lig.

Wow - that is a gorgeous ride. Let's hope you guys get some sun soon, I read today they are expecting rainy conditions until March...

I'm actually surprised you only hit 6.3 with that judicious parts selection. Enjoy!
