Hi there, here is new build for quite heavy, 90kg, guy. Hopefully will be strong enough in light terrain and soft riding style.
Any advises welcomed for non very extreme tuning or parts choice - target TOTAL weight is 7,5kg.


Previous bikes which were working well under me:
- 7,5 kg 26" Corratec Revo (on vbrakes)
- 8 kg 29" Niner RDO Rigid

So now we have:

Frame:



Crankset:



Wheels - 28 spokes, DT240s on rear (front under reconstruction for LEfty - expecting ca. 630g):



Cutted Bar - 66cm (same branded stem & seatpost on the way)


Brakes (still lines uncutted)


Shifter & Der:



Pedals (before axle change to Ti - 150g should be achievable)

- LEfty 100mm XLR + MCFK Steerer Tube
- Tune Bubi HEadset (ca. 50g saving vs. Acros attached to framset)
- KMC 11SL Chain (I hope ca. 20g saving vs XX1)
- Ashima Ai2 Rotors - 160mm with TI Bolts
- Scott Lite Open Grips

Looking forward to this build. I recently rode a 29er with the XX1 set-up for the first time and it was great! I'm also happy to see another person on Bebop pedals. Mine were exactly 151 grams after the Ti spindle upgrade.

well it is diffucult to say - I think road background is the main reason, and here in CEE roads quality is the real issue.
Also terrain for MTB is not so demanding - flat, sandy forests in central of Poland...


IN meantime and after some calculation, I can see I was to optimistic with total weight calculation. Maybe tires should be considered again, but under my weight and sandy forests, I do not see better option honestly (mayebe Schwalbe Thunder Burt 2,25 in the future - 2,1 is definitelly to low volume tire)

You will not be disappointed in those tires, they perform incredibly well for the weight. Lighter options just wont stand up.

going with tubes would save you a bit and your other big culprit looks to be the seatpost.

Yes, i agree but If i am not wrong, also the lightest... hopefully it will survive under heavy weight...

Yes, i agree and stem/stadle/bar was my biggest concern... I like homogenous branding here so enve is the safe choice for the moment.
For the future - we will see... Maybe reinforced versions from mcfk with their new stem or ax...
In this area is a lot of potential weight saving (ca 200g) but also huge cost and risk under my weight as well...

You need to install the crank 40cm. further back on the bike
