I happend to find small my sized Klein and I have to get it - so I did.
Image
When I got it it looked like this, but after all I find small crack from the frame and all the bottle cage rivets were loose. *f##k*.
Cracks:

Then I send it to the local welder and they got it repaired....Yes!
Now the frame looks like this:
Image

...So after all I did get intact frame. Because the welding I need to get the frame repainted. So then I get also new lighter fork for it. Color? I don't know yet. Eny thoughts?

Then some weight pictures....
Image
Frame with seat post clamp.
Image
Edge full carbon fork with too long steerer.

Also I find some cheap Campagnolo Hyperon's, but they were (rims) bit convace and the seller didn't tell it to me. I don't know what to do with them. Is the still safe to ride with? Both rims looks about like this. Other rims may bit bit more concave than that, but not much more:

That's a nice frameset you have there.
Is that an Edge/Enve fork with a 1 1/8" steerer you want to install? I hate to be the one to tell you this, but (unless the later Kleins changed steerer sizes) the Klein Quantum Pro bikes use a 1 1/16" steerer fork. The fork you bought won't fit. There is/was an adapter available at one time from a company called Reset Racing. details here: http://www.reset-racing.de/reset/steuer_index_1.htm#klein

Yep the Edge fork is 1 1/8" and the old fork is too, so all is fine.

What about the wheels? Are they ok if the rims looks like that?
I also have few parts to go with the build....

Tempted also to buy Record levers and front mech, but maybe not..Will se what's happened over the winter. I have most of the parts, but this will be a slowly build because I have all winter to mess with it. - If they weight will be something between 7 - 8 kg I'm happy with it.

It's a pity that the original paint is "gone", so I'll just have to get something nice to replace it:)
This is also good looking reference, but I don't know:

Do not use the wheels, the brake tracks are worn out. It should be a great looking build, I would love to find a xs myself someday

i can't agree on the rims being worn out, they are worn but the hyperons are kinda heavy even at the rim for shallow rims so there is alot of material there and since they are tubulars catastrophic failure is not likely.
i reckon if you research which brake pads aren't to abrasive and keep checking them they probably have more then a fair bit of life still in them.
Just check them regularly and they are fine.

Regarding the wheels, there's probably a reason why it was sold for low price aka worn out??
Did the seller indicate on the wear?
If not, perhaps you can return it for a refund.

Looking forward to the build!

Will see what I'm going to do with the wheels.
Maybe it was the reason for the "low" price, but I did ask the seller about the condition and he said good. So...But in the end that's not true. Seller is not wanting to do refund, so I can't basicly do enything about it because I payd by bank transfer. Of course I can go to police, but they can't do much because I buy'd the wheels from abroad - very hard to get moneys back.

What do you think for the value for those wheels in that condition if I sold them? - This is one option and then get china carbon to replace those.
But..I do also have this kind of wheels (rims), but i might prefer carbon rims. These are IRD Cadence road rims and FRM hubs, 32H. Not lightest set-up, but with Revolutions they could be about 1600g. Maybe. Or maybe sell all those and get new carbon from China.
They would look like this:

For the color I have been thinking something like this: (Will see when I got more money to spend on it)

even though klein died for me with going carbon (meaning that only full aluminium frames are REAL kleins for me), i'd go for "painted desert" colour scheme. this was a colour option in - at least - 1994. it is a dark red tone with orange/copper reflections depending on the light. some of the klein paint schemes are too fancy for me, but this one is amazing. it is both classy (first look) and fancy (second look). here you go, i present to you PAINTED DESERT:

and here's two in "candy red" which seems like a solid dark red without any fancy reflections:

for a (good) painter of kleins, i've read about
+ jon rock in the UK
+ etoe in Germany

i'd go for jon rock, he seems to be a klein-specialist...

Yup..I was also looked about that Desert paint scheme and it is awesome, but prices in the John and Etoe are way too high for me.
Etoe: 550 - 600€ for the frame painting
John is bit cheapper about: 450€, but it's still too much. = he has 12 months waiting list in November when I asked about the painting.
