Upgrading from a 2011 Felt F5 to a 2013 F1 - spent all of yesterday building it up - don't do family dinner
Interesting to see the weight difference.
Notes: Both 58cm frame size
- F1 on scales is with seat collar so -33g = 914g
- F1 has crown race build in so that is why F5 fork has alloy one on
- F5 has BB30 bearings in and I weighed the same pair at 48g, so -48g - 1040g
Really liked my F5, if my F1 can have all the same ride qualities but at 265g lighter, I'll be delighted
F5 to F1 upgrade

what pair of bearings were only 26g's? I want some. I have a 2011 f1 and it came in at 840g and the fork was 385g. I changed the fork to a 3T Rigida LTD at 284g. Just wondering why you didn't want to get the new Frd? That is supposed to be 100g lighter frame. PS with the 3T LTD fork and frame it was only 40 grams more than my Cervelo RCA frameset after taking into account BB's. Felt makes a nice bike, i loved my f1 and you will too.

My mistake liketoride, bearings are 48g sorry.
Got the F1 frame for £1350 and a new FRD is around £2500, so just a factor of cost and I actually prefer the F1 paintjob, although I do like the chequered effect on the FRD
Will get pics of the completed bike up today hopefully, if we can just get some good weather to take some nice shots!
